Introduction
After seven years with my ex, he claimed he was bored and turned to a younger, more delicate girl. This time, I didn't make a scene. I threw away the ring, cut up the newly bought wedding dress, and turned to the incredibly gentle and handsome guy who just happens to be my ex's arch-enemy.

After seven years with Silas Ferris, he said he was tired of me and left me for a younger woman.

I didn't make a fuss this time, unless you count throwing away the ring and cutting up the new wedding dress I had bought.

In the middle of the night, I boarded a plane and left Ford City.

His friends kept betting on how long it would take me to "drop my ego and beg to come back."

And his answer to that was a cocksure grin bordering on a sneer. "In less than three days, she'll come back crying and begging me."

But three days after three days, I was still out of contact.

He couldn't sit still any longer, and for once, called me first. "Serena, this is enough. Drop the tantrum and come back..."

However, at the other end of the phone, a man's low laugh came through. "Mr. Ferris, you can't keep a girl waiting overnight, or else someone might hoist her off her feet halfway."

Silas's eyes turned red as he gritted his teeth. "Tell Serena to answer the phone!"

Louis Smith lowered his head and kissed me. "Too bad she can't at the moment. She's still out like a light, I need to wake her up first with my kisses."

In the seventh year of being with Silas, I secretly bought a wedding dress and mustered up the courage to propose to him.

......

By chance, I was a few minutes late to the party that day.

Just in time to overhear his conversation with his friends.

"You mean Serena? Oh, I'm already bored with her."

Silas lit a cigarette and smiled without a care in the world. "Seven d*mn years—you would be bored too."

Those people also joined in the laughter. "Great minds think alike. Even a celestial beauty would lose its flavor after seven years."

"But Serena, appearance-wise, is a ten."

"And figure-wise. She wore a figure-hugging dress to Silas's birthday party last time. Which man there didn't have his eyes fixed on her?"

"To be honest, Silas, you were madly in love with her back then, but now you're letting her go?"

Silas's tone was the perfect personification of indifference. "When have I ever lied?"

"Well... if I were to pursue her, you wouldn't mind, would you?"

"Be my guest." Silas puffed out a smoke ring nonchalantly. "As long as you don't mind playing with my ex."

"Oof, your shamelessness never fails to amaze me. You're taking someone Silas has already gotten bored of."

Another round of laughter ensued.

That night, I didn't enter the private room and simply made an excuse that I had a headache and went home first.

Silas didn't even ask anything and just hung up the phone.

The decision to break up was probably made that very night.
