“Wow! Greg look at this old bookstore!” Emma said while pointing at an old bookstore inside Paris, France. Emma Hemington, a journalist that’s waiting to be the first one to unravel an old story of the past. Although she only wishes, she still looks hard to find a story that will make her be a famous journalist.
“You can’t just point anywhere Emma.” Greg said to Emma. Because of that she pouted. Greg Clinton, a journalist too. Both of him and Emma are close friends since childhood and aspire to be both famous journalists. They’re both in there early 20’s so they still have a lot to explore. “Well I’m going in! You coming?” Emma asked without a pinch of hesitation and only full of excitement. Greg sighed because of his friend’s behavior. She’s a bright and an always looking forward person, but sometimes it’s the cause of them getting in trouble.
“Nope. I would rather stay here.” He answered her question that made her face scrunch. “Well then suit yourself loser!” She said in a playful tone that made Greg laugh. Emma rushed into the store and already picked a few books to read. As she was busy reaching a book on the highest shelf she accidentally pulled 2 large books that made a box fell unto her head. “Ouch!” She said in pain.
When she recovered from the box that fell she picked up different letters that came out accidentally of the box. But she suddenly saw an address that let her mind get in thought of that. “From: Titanic To: Titanic.” She read out loud while reading the address of a letter she picked. She frowned in confusion.
Not until she saw the date of the letters. All of those letters were dated from April 3, 1912. Every letter that were addressed from and to, were all from titanic. All of the letters were addressed to Ms. Sally Cooper and were from Trevor Clinton. Both names were unfamiliar for Emma, but for the same time, intriguing. She picked one up again and wanted to open.
But it would be disrespectful for her, knowing she isn’t the rightful owner lf those letters. She got up and put all of the letters back inside the box and put the books she took back into their places on the shelves. She rushed to the lady who owns the place.
“Hello! Um Miss?” She said with confusion without even knowing or asking the name of the owner first. The owner giggled by the looks of Emma’s confused face. “Ms. Ally.” She introduced herself. Emma nodded and gulped. “Um, are you the owner of this box?” Emma asked so Ms. Ally was surprised and confused at the same time.
She looked at box as Emma put it on top of the desk. She looked inside of the box and saw the letters that were already brown, rough and a bit smelly because of the age. She shook her head as she didn’t own it. “Sorry sweetie but I don’t own this.” Ms. Ally said that made Emma have a disappointed face.
Ms. Ally was touched by this so she took another look and was surprised at the letter. She looked at Emma with a surprised face. She looked as if she knew something. “I may know who’s the owner but I’m not so sure.” She said that made Emma intrigued and felt excitement again.
“Who?” Emma asked that made Ms. Ally think. “I think the owner of this apartment, Selena Cooper is the owner of this, although I’m not so sure.” She explained with an unsure tone that made Emma have a little hope. “Still, it might be her… So… Who’s this Selena Cooper and where does she live?” Emma asked with a interested tone that made Ms. Ally move close to her.
Emma backed up a little to have a room for space between them. “Why would ask? Is there something you need with this?” Ms. Ally said while holding up the box. She looked at Emma with suspicion, making her asked that question. “I’m sorry, but I’m an journalist. I want to tell people about hidden truths. I have a hunch that this has something rolled back from the time titanic sank.” Emma said with a serious face. She was desperate for this story. It’ll be the best for her career.
Ms. Ally nodded like she was agreeing to trust her so she smiled with happiness. “Sure. Here’s her new address. She used to live here, she was also the previous owner of this bookstore.” She explained that made Emma nod for getting this information. “Thank you!” She said and hurriedly ran towards the door.
“Wait! You forgot the box!” Ms. Ally said as Emma forgot her key evidence. How stupid. Emma said to herself and ran back to get the box. She said her thanks and goodbyes to Ms. Ally as she got out of the bookstore.
“Hey! Greg!” She shouted at Greg to get a hold of his attention. Greg looked at her way while sitting at a near café. He looked at her with confusion. Maybe because she was holding a old pink box. “What the heck?” He asked without even thinking. He just shook his head out of disbelief.
Emma sat infront of him and put the box at the table. “You won’t believe what I’ve just found!” Emma said with excitement. He sighed. “The nerve of yours bringing an old box! I bet you stole it!” Greg said with disbelief. He was so fed up with Emma’s carelessness. But he still would let her be. I wonder why?
“Well for your information, I didn’t stole it. We’re bringing this back to it’s owner.” She said with a straight face and looking directly into Greg’s eyes. Greg felt something rising up in his stomach so he cough it off and looked away. “So you’re catch is?” Greg asking, why would they bring the box back.
Emma smirked crazily that made Greg worried. What are we going to do now? He asked inside of his head. “This was from the titanic, Greg. And we’re gonna have a blast from the past. She said seriously that made Greg interested. Who wouldn’t be interested in the titanic. A blast from the past it is indeed!
