Volt's POV

Why do we need to trust somebody?

Are we trusting because we feel comfortable when we are with them? Or are we trusting, because there are things we never good at, but they are?

In this game of life, it is not easy for us to trust. It took too long to prove that the person you are seeing is worth your trust. There's nothing wrong when you start trusting. There's nothing. But for me, I think, we are contrary to what we believe. Because I believe that when you start trusting, you just started your downfall as well.

"OMG! This thing is so sticky!" In my whole life, what I hate most of all is being sensitive. And that kind of characteristic Stephanie has. She acts so very sensitively. She never liked to be dirty and smelly. And that's the reason why I never liked her too.

The guy who was sitting next to her was Zyren. I can assure all of you that he was not trustworthy at all because all this time, I already knew that he was a cheater. He was obsessed to win this game quickly. I couldn't bring this thing to our team because I didn't know what's with his mind ever I spill it to them. I should play safe.

"We can make it until the end!" This... was Jane. The eldest, and toughest among us. She always made everyone comfort, because she believes, everyone is benefiting if ever one of us win this game. Tss. So resourceful. I don't like it at all.

"Boo!"

"Whaaa!"

This guy was Light. I don't have that much info about him, but in our team, he was the most nervous guy. He always made loud noises here inside the mansion. He is very annoying. Scream, scream, and to scream. That's his daily routine. But... Is he really a guy?

"Are you okay?" someone held my shoulders. It was just Clyde. He always treats and sees me like his best friend. He was always on my side since the start. He trusted me so well, but deep down, I knew to myself that I couldn't help to see him as a friend. I felt guilty, of course. However, having him would be a good help for me to achieve my dreams. And I won't let somebody grab that opportunity.

There are still people who have not been introduced. There are many to say but I couldn't make them bring all, maybe because, I just found out that those people were useless.

And to the people I’ve introduced, it’s just here I’m sure it’ll be hard to get what I want. But I will not allow that to happen.

Because I, Volt will win this challenge. I am the one who will get the 500 million pesos prize. It's just me... It's only me. -Two weeks earlier-

"Good morning, everyone. Classes will start in five minutes. We advise students to go to their respective rooms to avoid being late in class. Again, classes will start in five minutes. Have a great day ahead!"

I was standing in front of the school gate when I heard that announcement from the school's office. You could be considered this school decent because as you can see, this school was well run. It has good students, good facilities and a good reputation for me to said that it was a good school.

But it wasn't that good as we think.

Three months ago when I started moving from this school. I was innovating. From the faces of the people here, places as well as the way they teach. It was all different in my eyes.

In that three months of studying here, until today, I still have no lead on the unexpected loss of my sister two years ago. I was just a 15 year old since she went missing. No one knows where she went. We do not know if someone took her, or she just disappeared on purpose. And now that I was already 17 years old, I chose to study as a grade 10 student here in this school, Fedgey High School, a school where my sister last stepped have done. I wanted to know what happened to her. I will find ways, even if it is still dangerous.

"Oh, what else are you doing here, best friend?" Clyde put his arm around me. "We're going to be late!"

I insincerely looked at him.

But he isn't my friend. I don't want to have one either.

"Just go inside the classroom," I said in a low tone.

"How about you? Aren't you going inside? Why? Do you have a place to go in this school hour?"

Pfft. Too many questions. "Why do you even care?"

It seems like Clyde was shocked at what I've just said. I was right. Why does he need to act as he cares about me when the truth is, he isn't my friend.

"Because you're my best friend." He smiled, too wide up to his ears.

"But I never see you as my friend." Suddenly, his smile went gone.

He slowly nods his head, smiled bitterly, and started walking his foot inside the school. He did that as nothing happened at all.

While he was still walking inside the school, I was just there staring at him. Reminiscing the moment like this, the moment where I and my sister attending the school at the same time.

Flashback:

"Oh! Why is my baby looks so sad?"

"Nothing." I stopped walking when my sister blocked my way.

"Nothing? Eh, what's that on your face? Why are you frowning?"

I shook my head. "Nothing."

"Really!?" she pouted. "Maybe the money for your snacks that mama gave you isn't enough?" She seemed to be smiling at that time. She teased me again like it was her hubby every day before we head our steps to school. "But don't worry." She turned to me so she could make her bag in front of her. When it was already in front of her, she took her wallet and handed me money.

I was about to smile that time, however ...

"Oops!" She suddenly removed her hand in front of me that was holding money in. "Kiss your sister first." She bowed slightly on me then pointed to her cheek.

"What? Kiss?!" My eyes got widened. "Why do I need to kiss you, eh you know that I am already a grown-up! Look, we're still in public."

"What grown-up? You're only in grade 8, boy. Then another one, even though you're in college, you're still my baby boy!" she sarcastically said then she squeezed my cheek.

Suddenly, I felt my face blush then. She teased me so over, but she also immediately increased my money for snacks right after we entered school.

End of Flashback

As I walked head into our classroom, I was suddenly stopped because I saw James, a scholar student passionately reading about cooking, and Stephanie, a campus hot with nothing to do but beautify herself, blocking the door.

"Oh My God! Stop!" Stepahine stopped me from walking. "You might get my uniform dirty. I'll move first and then you can go."

"Aish! You're sensitive, Steph!" James said while he was still reading his menu book at the door.

"Of course! Mama bought it new and then ..."

"Make away!" I said in a low tone.

Stephanie seemed scared then so she moved quickly, as did James while still looking at what he was reading. The class hadn't started before. There are still 2 minutes so I could see that the whole class was still so chaotic and noisy.

We finished our first subject in English quickly. It’s true maybe that when you like something, time flies by.

"Sir!" I raised my right hand when our second subject class started. "Can I go to the bathroom?"

I was about to leave the classroom at that time when I suddenly felt someone pulling my uniform.

"Can I come along?" It's just Clyde.

"Why? Will you help me hold it?"

I think some of my classmates heard what I said because it made them laugh. Clyde released me immediately so I was able to get to the bathroom quickly. After I pee, I left the urinals to wash my hands at the tap. As I was washing my hands, I saw two men passed me to urinate in urinals as well. I was about to return to the room when I suddenly heard their conversation and when my sister's name was mentioned.

All-day until I got home, I couldn’t get out of my mind the things I had heard in the bathroom before. Maybe I was just misinterpreted. Maybe it was a different Nike.

Flashback:

"Did you did that, bro?"

"Of course. Did you know that I only worked on that Nike Carry fast?"

"Oh? Wait a minute? Are you the reason that's why she's missing now?"

"Missing?"

After that last word I heard, I felt like I could kill them right now. I could not fully imagine what that man had done to my sister. I would never forgive him if he was one of the reasons why until now, my sister was still missing. I would not. Absolutely not!

End of Flashback

It's already 11:45 PM, but this was me, like an owl with wide eyes still wide open. I was almost repeatedly rolling around in my bed at that time. My head was hurting. I felt like in a few hours from now, my head would explode because I overthink my sister.

After two years of her absence, I wondered how was she doing? Was she okay? Does she eat well? Or maybe I should ask myself this question ... "Is she still alive?"

My cellphone rang at that time so I immediately woke up to see what was there.

Someone texted me. And the number who just texted me was not familiar to me. Strange number.

I read the text of that number and I was surprised at what it told me. To my great surprise, I suddenly dropped it on the floor. Trembling, sweating. I can't figure out if I was still alright.

From: 09278834683

How are you? Do you still remember your sister Nike? If so, 500 million in exchange for her. Just text this number when your money is ready.

As I stared at the emptiness, I suddenly bent down and found my cellphone on the floor. I would have looked at the message again to make sure if it was true or just a false of my mind because I had overthought it earlier. But when I looked at it, nothing happened. Same result. My heart was beating so fast.

Wait.

Did this text said that my sister was still alive? If yes, are they asking for ransom money because my sister was kidnapped?

My phone rang again. I opened my it again to see what was going on. As I opened it, I saw in the notification bar of my cellphone that Clyde mentioned me in his comment. I wouldn't have pressed it because maybe later, it will be friendship quotes again. But at that time, I accidentally tapped it and read what does that post contained as well.

"Do you want to win huge money?" I read the headline of the post when I looked at my cellphone. I felt curious so I looked closely at what and what the post was about.

"Do you want to win huge money? Come on and join the Black Domum challenge! A challenge where real and huge money exists."
