Ashley's POV
“Fucking nightmares”
I woke up breathing heavily, again. Same nightmares, I see my parents being brutally killed in-front of me.
“You okay there?” Au, my wolf said
“Yea, just these dreams are fucking with my head” I answered
“We better hurry before he wakes up”
I took out my gold inked pen and draw, a small moon below his ears on the back. I mark men with it not because they are my victims but because I don’t want to sleep with the same guy all over again, to avoid attachment and of course commitment.
I mark them because I happen to forget their faces too. This is to make sure, I sleep with them once.
I sleep around, yes. Not much though, I started when I turned 21 right after a jerk who I was with, broke every bit of me but that’s in the past, I have moved on well any way, I know wolves supposed to have their mates on their 18th but that’s not the case for me but I don’t mind, really. I enjoy my life. I sleep around usually with humans, I avoided wolves but merely because to cause less problems, but I did sleep with three wolves when I turned 21 but now that I’m 24, I decided on going for humans.
I sneak out before the guy I slept with open his eyes. I soon as I got to my car, I drove off. I reach the pack house at five in the morning, usually warriors are already awake and they are.
“Hey Ash!” Dean, a warrior said
“Hey!” I call out, and wave back
Yes, even though I have a let’s say a different attitude and a hobby, people here still looks at me the same. And I love them for it.
I sneak inside the house, I slowly close the door.
“Well, here you are again, third time this week”
“Damn it” I turned around
“Hey there brother” I said and smiled
“You should stop you know. It’s not good for other wolves see you sleep around” he said as he comes near me
I rolled my eyes. “You stop rolling your eyes” he scolded
“Come on, she has beautiful eyes” Danielle said
I hugged her. “Are the twins awake?” I asked
“You spoil your nephews too much” David, my brother said
I chuckled. They look so good together. My brother David Garret is the Alpha of our pack, Silver Moon Pack. His mate is Danielle Piche, she came from France. One day, my brother came home from a business trip, he brought Danielle with her, I never got a problem with that, I see them both as my family, they are like a mother and father figure for me, since I grew up without one.
They had pups already. Twins. Danica and Will Garret. They are both so cute, and I love them to death.
“They are asleep but every time you come home they somehow knows you’re here and they-----”
“Ashley!” a seven-year old girl came screaming while going down the stairs. It’s Danica
“Told you” Danielle said
I caught her in my arms and carry her up. “You’re up early princess, where’s your brother?”
“Here” came down another seven-year-old, Will.
He came towards me and gave me peck on cheeks. He’s not much of a cuddle person. He is mature for his age but sometimes he still acts sweet and caring.
“Where we going today?” Danica asked
“Where do you want go?” I asked, looking at them both
“School” Will said
“Oh right, it’s your first day” I said and Danica pouted
“Don’t worry. I’ll drive you to school. Go up and get ready, I will wait for you down here” I said and they both went to their rooms
I look at my brother and Danielle and they are both looking at me in awe. I rolled my eyes internally.
“Let’s have breakfast. I cooked” Danielle said and we went to eat
“Why did you send them to a school filled with humans?” I ask, as I take a sit
“I just want them to learn somethings from there. To control themselves too” David answered
“Who’s going to watch them?” I asked them
“Mitch, who else?” David said
“He is your Beta. Who’s going to help you with work now?” I asked again
“I’m here, don’t worry too much” Danielle said
“Okay, I am just making sure they are both safe” I said
We ate in peace. After that the kids came running down.
“Ready to go?” I asked
“Here is your food” Danielle gave them lunch boxes
“Thank you, Mommy” Danica said sweetly
“We’re late now, Bye mom, bye dad” Will said, taking Danica’s hand and inside the car
“Where’s Mitch?” I asked
“Right here!” he shouted
“Great, Let’s go! I’ll drop you off”
It was not a long drive; it was like 45 minutes. Even though the pack house was within the woods.
“I’ll ask someone to pick us up. You don’t have to worry” Mitch said
I nodded. I kissed the kids and wave at them goodbye. I was supposed to leave but then someone stopped me.
“Golden?” He said and I look at him confused
“Excuse me?” I said, pulling my arms away from his grip
“Oh I don’t know your name. You left without saying goodbye or a note or anything that time” he said, I walk over at him and check behind his ear. But I smell he is a wolf. Maybe it was one of those three wolves I slept with 2 years ago.
Oh, okay.
“Sorry, I don’t remember you.” I said apologetically
“It’s fine.” He chuckled
“What you doing here” I said
“I sent my kid to school” he answered
“Oh, that’s good, I dropped off my nephews here. Why did you call me golden?” I asked out of curiosity
“You’re famous here, you didn’t know that?” He asked
I shake my head, what the hell is he talking about.
“Do you mind if we talk for a little bit?” I asked
“Sure, a cup of coffee?” he said and I nodded
We went down the street into a coffee shop and ordered what we want. I paid for It for it and he was shocked knowing my name.
“You are Ashley Garret? The sister of Alpha David, of the Silver Moon Pack?” he asked
“Ahuh. And can you keep this a secret?” I asked
“Of course. I was just…..just amazed and I can’t believe you are his sister”
I changed my mind. I’ll listen to what he has to say first.
“I get that a lot, what do you know about me?” I asked before I go stupidly talking about myself
“The Golden Chic, that’s what we, your victims call you” he explained
They call themselves my victim because they didn’t know my purpose.
“Golden Chic? Because I draw a golden moon on behind your ears?” I asked
“Yes. But you are from Silver Moon pack and your eyes are blue. I don’t get it, why gold?” he asks
“For that.” I bow my head and remove one of my contact lenses. I wear blue because it’s the color of my brother’s eyes
I showed my eyes to him, I didn’t know what came into me but I felt comfortable showing him my eyes somehow then he gasped. I put it back on.
“Your eyes are golden” he said
“Yup” I casually answered and took a sip on my drink
“You need to make sush, okay?” I added and he nodded coming back to his senses
“What pack are you?” I asked
“Where are my manners, I’m Logan Luca, beta of the Blood Lake Pack. One of your alliances.”
“Okay. It’s nice to meet you again, Logan. I better get going” I said, it’s better if they call themselves victim, to make sure they don’t come and throw themselves at me
“Here’s my number. Maybe we could go out sometime, I’ll introduce my mate to you” He said smiling and slipping the paper on my bag.
“I don’t do friends” I said, over my shoulder, as I walk away and go outside the door.
With that, I drove off.

I don’t know where to go, and I don’t want to go home early. But I don’t have a choice. I pouted
“We can find someone downtown” Au said mischievously
My wolf is being supportive with my attitude and hobby, because I made a promise. If she supports me with this, I would stop it immediately when I find my mate and she’ll get to have a say if she wants to go for a run with him or anything.
I smirk “You’re enjoying it aren’t you? But sorry to burst your bubble Au, Alpha doesn’t like my attitude that much” I said and got down my car, I went straight for his office
“knock knock” I said instead of knocking
“Come in” I heard Danielle’s voice called and I enter.
“Can I help with anything?” I asked
“Not that I know of” My brother says
“Well, I’ll wait until you find something” I shrugged and let my body fall down on his sofa
“No plans tonight?” he asked and I looked at him, their heads are both down looking at some papers
“I could make one but you see a certain Alpha doesn’t like my attitude” I said and Danielle giggled
“I like the sound of that” My brother said looking at Danielle with lust
“She just giggled and she turns you on” I rolled my eyes
“Wait until you meet your mate, even by looks can make you wet” Danielle Mind Linked me
“Hey what did you tell her!” My brother said
“Back to your Alpha duties” I said blushing, I stood up and walked towards the door
“Call me if you need anything” I said and left them be.
I guess we’re staying at my room tonight.
“I guess we are” Au said
