"I'm going to miss you so much", Steph said as she looked at old photos of our memories.
It's funny, she's talking this way because we're gonna be in separate classes this semester.
"Who am I going to be making fun of teachers with."
"We'll be alright," I put a hand on her shoulder to comfort her
"You're right.",she wiped the tears that were about to fall out
"How bad could it be..."
"Those words are bad luck,if you've noticed in any show."
"Just a coincidence."
"How do you know."
"Because I know."
"Smart-ass."
We were interrupted by the door opening, we turned around and Steph's mum walked in with a basket of laundry.
"Oh mum.."
"Sorry honey, I just came to ask whether I could use bleach for your underwear."
"Mum!"
I let out a little chuckle and they turned to look at me. I couldn't help but laugh at her puffy face.
"Not a good time mum."
"But I made sure Lucas wasn't here."
"It doesn't matter, I mean couldn't you at least knock."
"I'm your mum, I have to know what happens when I'm not around."
"That's my business."
"Since when do you make decisions for your mother."
"You know what."I quickly interrupted before things could get any worse."I think bleach is good."
"You're right Morgan, now can you leave mum."
"Fine but this discussion is not over."
She glared at Steph and closed the door
"She just never knows the right time."The pink on her cheeks started to fade.
"Like she said, at least Lucas wasn't here."
"Where is he anyway?."
We were interrupted by the door again but this time, a guy with jet black hair and deep green eyes wearing a sweat shirt and shorts walked in.
"I was downstairs playing video games,"Lucas said as he swiped a piece of hair from his face.
"I think we should head out Morgan, it's getting kinda late."
"Yeah, I guess."
I turned to wave Steph good bye and Lucas did the same.
"Can't you stay a little longer."
"If I get kidnapped you don't expect Lucas to protect me."
"I'm standing right here,"he said throwing his hands in the air.
I ignored him and turned back to Steph.
"I guess you're right,"she said putting away the photos.
I gave her an apologetic look and gave her a hug.
"Tomorrow is school, can we please get on with our lives,"he groaned
Before I could wave one more time, Lucas grabbed my arm, dragged me outside and slammed the door.
"I think there was a more polite way to do that,"I glared at him.
He rolled his eyes and flipped his hair. We went downstairs and told Steph's mom goodbye then walked out the door. The cold air of the evening breeze hit me.
