Evelyn’s P O.V.
“Are you interested in sleeping with a man for one million dollars?”
A beautiful girl in a tight blue gown was standing beside me confidently, her ocean blue eyes had a hint of curiosity in them. That beauty casually circled me, observing my body keenly.
“You are a virgin. I am giving you a good deal.”
Oh, really? Who in her right mind would ask such a nonsense question from a stranger and in a girls’ restroom? Was she out of her mind?
“Y-you are crazy!”
These words came out as a scream from my mouth, the extent of shock rendered me speechless. My no dating rule from my early teenage years left me the only virgin in our college. Then I found Brad, my loving boyfriend, we also agreed on the “no sex before marriage” rule.
Her melodious laughter snapped me out of the daze, she slipped a visiting card in my jeans pocket.
“Call me when you are ready. I need a virgin as soon as possible.”
She giggled and walked out of the bathroom; I hardly suppressed the urge to kick her round ass.
“Where are you?”
My cellphone blinked with my boss’s message, reminding me that I was there for twenty minutes.
“Coming!”
...
“It’s better to take Bruce here. You cannot handle anything, Evelyn.”
President Zuriel clenched his jaws and showed me the time to add salt to my wounds.
“Sorry, Sir.”
My embarrassment was quite entertaining for his best friend, President Aaron, he chuckled.
“Your cheeks are red, Eve. My favorite color is red, too. What a coincidence.”
I bit my tongue hard to halt an outrageous insult in reply, it was surprising how President Zuriel became friends with this playboy. As for the record, my boss was engaged and devoted to his fiancé who was studying abroad.
And Mr. Aaron, he was a player, every girl was welcomed in his limousine.
“He can date a girl on a ventilator.”
Anyhow, game night continued in its full glory after I punched a paparazzi photographer for spying on my boss. I went to the bathroom to wash my face when that heavenly beauty offered me the most absurd deal of the century.
A group of gamblers was gathered in the corner, they were betting on popular players there.
“Place my bet on the night rider. He will win.”
My boss was taking part in this motorbike race especially to defeat that famous night rider. He was obsessed with motorcycle races, but his tough schedule didn’t give him enough time to pursue his hobby.
“The night rider is dead.”
I smirked inwardly and fixed my gaze on the boss’s vehicle. Tall, handsome, and charming boys were on sale there, ready to melt any girl’s heart.
With a gunshot, high-speed bikes bolted out at supersonic speed. The race was divided into different rounds, it was almost four in the morning when the manager announced the results of the competition.
“Silver Moon, first.
Crimson Warrior, second.
Knight Rider, third.”
Among thirty participants, President Zuriel stood first, defending his previous victory. The event was still in full bloom, but he called it night.
I barely managed to complete the paperwork for the competition in ten minutes and joined them in the parking lot.
“Although you didn’t work well, I am giving you a bonus. Work hard.”
My smoking hot boss, President Zuriel Scott was standing tall like a male model, he had a devil-may-care look on his dashy face. He squinted his dark green eyes as Aaron fixed his gaze on me, and whispered something in my boss’s ear, fueling his anger like always. Over a six feet duo was towering over my five feet five inches frame easily, terrorizing me to the core.
“How will you go back?”
Here we go again. President Aron glanced at my bicycle and pointed out; a semi naked girl was clung to his chest.
“Riding a bicycle so late is not safe for a beautiful girl. Besides.”
He leaned in, his grave voice was laced with warning.
“Beware of the bats. They like to attack at night.”
Phew! What did he think of me? A little girl? I had ridden this bicycle in my every tough time, and he was suggesting that this was dangerous. What a liar!
“Who says that she is going back on that cycle?”
President Zuriel glared at his friend; his cold aura was exuding icy frostiness to freeze me.
“I will drop Evelyn. Get in!”
Without waiting for my response, he grasped my arm and opened the door of his red sports car.
“I also have a Lamborghini. If you are interested...”
I couldn’t hear any more of this conversation, as President Zuriel ignited the engine and drove the car at maximum speed.
“Sir!”
I closed my eyes shut and prayed to all the gods in the universe for my safety.
“Please.”
My begging finally made its way into his hot head, he stopped his airplane at Starbucks.
“Iced Americano with club sandwich.”
“Didn’t he eat in the break?”
I kept my thoughts to myself and took deep breaths, my heart was drumming in my ears.
“Take it.”
“For me?”
“Is there anyone else in this car?”
Well, this was a miracle of the Heaven that President Zuriel ordered something for his employee, especially the one he hated the most.
“You didn’t eat.”
He also voiced his reason, but I didn’t pay any heed to it. If he was ready to spent extra bucks on me, who was I to refuse.
This time he drove slowly and gave me a chance to sip my coffee. The instant dose of caffeine soothed my nerves with its heavenly smell. It was my first time attending to night duty of his personal activity, my boss was clearly more relaxed than office.
Anyhow, I thanked my boss and handed him the letter.
“Prize money has been deposited to your account. I have sent a copy to Bruce
his assistant
too. Have a good day, Sir.”
He dropped me at the bus stop near my flat’s building, I walked happily to my home with countless dreams in my heart. I was waiting for an email, which could change the orientation of my entire life.
Working as an intern in Scott’s group wasn’t bad, the job of a newbie was hard in every sector. But this was not my dream career. My heart yearned to soar high in the sky, touching the limits of its vastness.
“Bruce will be shocked to see my resignation.”
That mini devil had overburdened me with work countless times, but no more. I had found a shortcut to success, and no one could hold me back.
Although it was Sunday, I was certain of a positive response. Wish me luck!
