Heading to the campus for her class, Han Nuan Nuan wearing a yellow floral dress match with her white sneakers.
She was a fresh and pure beauty, with large eyes and two dimples. That petite body was graceful and unhurried. Walking with her bestfriend Jia Qi, she suddenly suggest,
"Today weather seems very nice. Maybe we should grab some choco beverage at the cafe later."
Jia Qi only nodded looking at her bestfriend staring at the sky while smiling so brightly. So silly, she thought.
Nuan Nuan can be considered as the campus beauty with her bright personality, she is likeable. A lot of her classmates try to make move on her but she is too naive to noticed it. She treated everyone the same.
As her bestfriend, Jia Qi always tried to protect her because Han Nuan Nuan unaware of the jealousy burning within the girls.
In reality, Han Nuan Nuan don't want to be recognise as pretty. She got no friend since she is a child because of her beauty. They said she is arrogant before trying to know her. But she is glad, she met Jia Qi in high school.
On a sunny day, reading a novel while waiting for her class to start was her best option to escape the boredom.
Han Nuan Nuan is currently reading a novel named The General. She borrowed it from the library yesterday. While searching for some books for her assignment, she accidentally discovered the book at the end of the shelves.
'Seems like an old book.'
She stared a little bit longer at the book while thinking whether she want to read it or not. But the front cover of the book captivated her. It was a picture of a man holding a magnificent sword with his back facing her.
Han Nuan Nuan is a big fan of romantic and horror novels but she don't know why this novel attract her like a magnet.
The novel is basically about the general's life and death. She learned that he has a cold and ruthless personality.
"He must be a great person right? He protect his own country with his life on the line." Han Nuan Nuan stared at the novel while asking her best friend, Jia Qi.
"Maybe, but I don't really like his personality because he is too expressionless. He kept on displaying his stone-faced." Her best friend complained while frowning.
"Probably he want to maintain his merciless image afterall his job is to protect the country so he couldn't show any weakness..." Before Han Nuan Nuan could finish, she was interrupted.
Their professor entered the class and started the teaching the class like usual. Just like that her day passed by quickly.
After the class, they went to the cafe to grab some drinks just like they planned earlier. Then both of them go back to their respective room which is at the girls dorm.
"See you tomorrow and have a good night!" Han Nuan Nuan waved enthusiastically at her best friend who is currently heading to her room.
Jia Qi just wave lazily because she is so tired. She don't understand why Han Nuan Nuan still energetic.
Went straight inside her room, she smiled looking at her bed. She quickly had a shower, then wear her cute pyjamas and directly lay down on her favourite bed.
'Maybe I should sleep early today'
Her mind wandering with her eyes closed trying to sleep. All of a sudden, the image of the man or the general popped up in her mind. Her eyes went wide and she sprung out of her bed searching for the book in her bag.
Seaching for it excitedly, she finally found it. She then swiftly turned to the last pages she had read. She is determined to finished the book by tonight.
While reading the novel, she went through a lot of emotion. She had read about how the the Tang Dynasty emperor has choose a wife for the general. Unfortunately, the women has someone special is her heart.
She felt very unhappy on how the general's life went on. Without any true love or someone by his side, he lived alone until the end of his life. After a while, she finally came to the end of the books where the general was killed by his enemy.
In this chapter, the death of the general is actually caused by his enemy and some of his own subordinate who betrayed him using a cunning act and cruel scheme.
During this chapter, Han Nuan Nuan unexpectedly attacked by a wave of sadness. She couldn't saw this coming. She don't know why but her eyes felt really burning. Then her tears fell down like a river.
'Why am I feeling this way? Why do I feel so heartbroken for him?' She thought about it while sobbing.
Grabbing a pile of tissues to wipe her tears but it seems like its didn't want to stop. She felt so sorrowful.
Then she put down the book and went to her bed. Just laying down while staring at her ceiling, she keep on recalling the death of the general. At last, she cry herself to sleep.
