In everyone’s eye, I was the perfect wife, I needed to impress everybody for I am carrying his surname.

Flaws can’t be seen in me.

I had no room for mistakes, this is why we ended up being apart from each other.

“It’s been a while since the last time we saw each other. How have you been?” He asked,

I remained quiet and didn’t show any emotions at all.

We got annulled three years ago because that’s what her mother wanted for us. They were done using me for their own benefit.

They needed to depose me.

I was their puppet for years, but what’s funny about it is I let them use me because they knew I liked their son.

“Are you just going to keep quiet?” He asked,

I glanced at him then spoke.

“I’m busy taking care of the hotels and restaurants. Why did you send someone to come and pick me up?” I asked,

He smirked and stared at me.

“I’ve missed you, I just got back from a business transaction abroad and hey, I’m about to become the youngest senator in the country,” He proudly said,

“That’s great to hear, you always wanted to be a senator.” I coldly replied,

Alan stared at me, he was just staring at me. Before I used to blush whenever he stared at me like this but I guess people grew tired of something.

“It’s our wedding anniversary today,” He said,

I drank the wine that was given to me.

“We got annulled three years ago, we have no anniversary to celebrate,” I said,

He chuckled upon hearing my response.

“Right, I forgot about that.” He stated,

I stood up and said my goodbyes to him.

“If you have nothing else to say, I will be leaving,” I said then started walking away from him but then he asked the same question once again.

“Can you just come back to me?” He uttered desperately.

I glanced at him a little before continuing to walk away from him.

When I got inside the car, the driver was calmly waiting for me. He’s been my driver for years,

“Are we going home straight today, Miss Anna?” He asked,

I shook my head at him.

“Can you please drop me off at the Baywalk? I would like to have some alone time.” I replied,

He nodded then started driving.

“Will I be waiting for you today, Miss Anna?” He asked when I got out of the car.

I smiled at him and shook my head.

“You can now go home, I’ll just take a cab by myself,” I said then closed the car door and started walking on the bay walk.

The night scenery was nice, and the area was also not crowded. Everything was peaceful, everyone was enjoying their little time alone or just walking with someone.

I was enjoying the bay walk bench when someone sat beside me, I ignored it since this was a public bench everyone is entitled to sit in here.

“Oh my god,” I said when the man suddenly snatched my bag away from me and started running.

I yelled for help and the police in the area immediately got their attention and started running to chase the man who snatched my bag.

“Are you alright, Miss?” the lady police asked.

I nodded at her as we waited at the police station. They’ve told me that someone from their team was able to catch the man who snatched my bag.

Minutes later, a policeman came holding the snatcher in his hand, including my bag. Other police on the station got the man from the police who caught him and placed him inside the cell.

“Where’s the lady who got her bag snatched?” the policeman asked,

I stood up and went near him.

“Thank you for recovering my bag,” I said and offered my hand for a handshake.

He stared at me for a few seconds before showing me his perfect teeth and extending his hand.

“You're welcome. I’m SPO3 Liam Ford at your service.”

I smiled at him and bowed my head in respect. They assisted me with everything that needed to be done.

I had some paperwork to fill up since they needed a case to file. SPO3 Liam Ford helped me with everything that needed to be filled up.

“Is there anything else that I have to fill up?” I asked,

He shook his head at me then walked me outside the police station.

“Someone should be picking you up at this time of the night, Miss Ana.” He uttered,

I glanced at myself and to my watch.

“I was having my alone time today, but a snatcher happened,” I replied,

He nodded at me.

“Wait here, I’ll just get something from the station. Don’t go anywhere,” He uttered before running back inside the station.

Seconds later, he came back and pushed the key fob of his car.

“Come on, I’ll take you home.” He said, making me confused.

My mouth agape at what he said but before I could speak up he got inside of his car and waited for me to get in.

I exhaled before getting inside.

He’s a policeman, I’m pretty sure. I’ll be safe with him, I have nothing to worry about.

“So where do I drop you off?” He asked,

I hesitated to tell him the address but he eventually smiled at me again showing his perfect white teeth.

“I mean no harm, I’ll just drop you off at your place. It’s pretty late already, our city is scary at this time of the night.” He said,

I nodded then proceeded to tell him the address.

“The Residences at Greenbelt Makati,” I uttered,

He nodded then went on to drive, the travel time was fast because he was using the red thingy of the police. So that we could pass the traffic in a flash.

I thanked him when he dropped me off at the entrance of the lobby.

He smiled at me and offered his business card,

“If anything happens or if you need anything just text or call me.” He said before driving off.
