I stared at the lamp post while hearing a thousand bees around me. When I said bees, they are the students who keep on whispering and gossiping about the other people whom they don't like or even know, as if I can't hear them by doing that. I remained my innocent face, though I want to shut them up because of their hisses, I need to remain silent as possible.
Finally, I'm already a freshman, and today is our first day. I wonder what would be my life here? Being new, and different is quite… Challenging.
I looked around and felt the number of sun rays on my skin. I smiled as I saw the buildings, at least four buildings, and old students that are walking to get in their class, while we are still here, waiting for our names, to notify us where are our corresponding rooms.
"Ms. Freia…" I glanced at the woman in the front. I think she is the dean? She paused a little, and gulped as she added, "Deleriyeis…"
"I'm here!"
I saw how she fixed her eyes on me, like studying my whole body and trying to recognize me. I giggled inside my mind and fixed my big round eyeglasses. Furthermore, I smiled widely to let her see my teeth, and I almost grinned as I saw her face got crumpled as she disgustedly saw it, it's wearing braces and quite yellowish.
Is she really disgusted with me? Hmm… A dean?
Suddenly, the side of my lips rose, as I heard her mumbled, "I think, she's not the daughter. I'm just freaking out."
"Miss?" I called her attention.
"Room BSBA-II."
She shook her head, but I just smiled widely. "Thanks."
I clutched the straps of my bag and started to walk. I'm still listening to their agonies because of how I look.
"I can't live with that nerdy, girl! She looks disgusting!"
"Really? How come she managed to enter this school? By the looks of her, I'm confident that she's one of the cheap people who's living in a small house."
"Gosh! I feel itchy by how she dressed."
I shook my head. Well, what do I expect? I'm wearing big round eyeglasses, my hair is wavy and messy, my eyebrows are thick, and I'm wearing old-fashioned clothes. Enough to the one they called, nerd.
I lazily walked into the hallway. Some students are looking at me, some are making fun of me, and some are discriminating against me. I just shrugged them off.
What would be my benefits if I fight back, rather than protect myself? I'm just a nerd… Well, a so-called-nerd.
"Cloren!"
"Ouch!" I groaned in pain as I bumped into someone. I was about to shout at the person, but I suddenly remembered what am I now.
"I'm sorry, babe."
Babe? What the hell is he saying? Is he using that endearment to me?
I jumped a bit when he snaked his arm in my waist. I want to punch him, really hard, but I need to remain like a sweet potato, who can't afford to fight back.
Likewise, I bit my bottom lip to restrain myself from yelling at him. Furthermore, I looked up to the man beside me and got star-struck by his looks. But I realized that he is… A player.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Shh…" He murmured. "Just go with the flow. Anastasia's getting crazy. I just broke up with her yesterday, and now, she's being a psycho."
Who the hell is Anastasia?
I looked around because of what he said. And there! I saw a woman who is marching towards us. I gulped as I stopped myself from laughing so hard.
The hell! She looks like a crazy woman who just bailed out of the asylum.
"Cloren!" She shouted out of her lungs. I secretly rolled my eyes because of her irritating voice.
When she finally reached us, I bit my bottom lip. The hell! I can't take this anymore—gosh!
"Why the hell are you laughing?"
"She looks retarded, and a woman who just bailed out of the asylum," I answered him back.
I heard him chortle at what I said. I look back to the woman and wear my innocent mask.
"Is she the one?" She chided, as if not accepting the fact that I am the new girl.
Wait! Why am I even got into this mess? I am supposed to be sitting inside my class now. And! They are in their third year as a college student, so why am I even here? Gosh! I forget about it.
I was about to walk out of the scene, but the man grasped my waist, hard. What the hell?
"Just, please... Don't go, I can't handle her madness."
"I'm going to be late for my class." And I don't care if you can't handle her! I'm out of this mess.
"Please…"
I heave a sigh and felt his grip loosened.
"Hon, who is her?" I asked sweetly.
I think I'm going to throw up, later. Gosh! Why do I even help him out?
"Hon? The hell! You really are with this disgusting nerd? Cloren! I'm gorgeous and hotter than that ugly duckling!"
What the hell? Did she seriously say those words… At me? Seriously? Well then, she's right! But… Really? Am I really worse?
"I love her, Anastasia. So leave us alone!" I jerked as he held my hand. "Let's go… Hon."
I felt shivers down my spine as I heard him said the most disgusting endearment that I'd used in my whole life.
"Can you let go of me now?"
"Oh, sorry!"
I rolled my eyes and continued to walk, leaving him behind. I don't care if he's one of the heartthrobs in this University, he's still a jerk for making—ops! Likewise, I'm talking as if I'm not like—well! It's new life, so forget about it.
As I reached my room, I took a deep breath and enter. As if in motion, the surroundings halted as I take a step inside. It feels nostalgic, seeing them freeze on what they are doing, while I am standing here. The so-called-nerd is their block mate.
"Hi?" I hesitantly greeted, but I was surprised when someone throws a crumpled paper at me.
"Go to hell, disgusting shit!"
And as if on cue, all of them are already throwing a crumpled paper at me. I clenched my fist and started to calm myself.
You are an angel, amazingly beautiful. Gosh!
"What the! What the hell is happening here?"
All of them stopped and trembled in fear as they saw the person who shouted behind my back. I smirked as I recognized her voice.
"Why are you being unreasonable to this girl? You are already in college! Act like one."
I rolled my eyes. She looks mature when she's like this.
I felt her walked past and stopped in front of me. I remained, my face down and bit my bottom lip.
"Hey, are you okay?"
I nodded. I don't want her to realize that I am—
"Oh my—" she was about to shriek when I widened my eyes, making her calm. "Are you okay?"
"Yes, thank you."
I gulped as I felt her gazes, a sharp one. She looks at me like I am the most unpredictable species in this galaxy.
"I-I'm going to sit now," I said and walked fast to my chosen spot, at the back, where I am just the one who is sitting—well okay, I'm wrong.
"So why do you look like shit, Freia?"
