This is not a story about a boy meeting a girl, falling in love and facing hard times together. This is not a story about how love conquers it all. This is a story about how love destroys and how it is a person’s downfall
Alexander and Nadia ran through the woods, hand in hand, smiles as bright as the moon that night. They were overjoyed, how could they not be? They were in love.
Alexander laid down on the soft grass and pulled Nadia on top of him. He had never seen a woman as gorgeous as her. Her long dark brown hair laid in soft curls down her soft blush skin. Her eyes were the color of spring grass with hazel flecks in them. She seemed so small next to his great stature. When they would have children, he hoped that the children would get her beauty and not his blue eyes or his light brown hair. To him, she would always be the definition of perfection.
“Be mine. Be my love forever, Nadia.” Alexander asked with the most sincerity he could master up.
“I would not want to be anyone else’s.” Nadia said with great love in her voice.
Alexander smiled and kissed his love with everything he had in him.
“Then it is settled. We will wed. Tomorrow!” He exclaimed, but they both knew that was easier said than done. Alexander was a prince. Second in line to take the throne and Nadia was the princess. Their kingdoms invented the term hate. Each winter their kingdoms would go to war, no one would win, but everyone would lose. Nadia and Alexander wanted to believe their love could end the wars.
Bring peace.
But this was real life, not a fairytale.
When the queens and kings heard about Nadia’s and Alexander’s marriage, everyone when into rage. They forbade it. No one would allow this treason. Alexander would not allow anyone to stand in his way, no matter who they were. He would fight for his love, even against his own family. He would marry his love, even if it meant losing everything. Alexander and Nadia both knew if they got married, they would be killed. They would lose each other to death. That is when Alexander reach out to an old friend, a witch. He begged the witch to make a potion that would make them unkillable, that would let them live a long happy life without the fear of having to run forever. The witch did as he asked.
Alexander’s mother, Queen Liliana Jacobs, heard about her son’s plans to marry in secret. Her heart filled with hate and she wanted to punish her son, in the worst way she could think of. She reached out to her own court of witches. She would allow her son to get his wish. He would live a long life unable to be killed, but Nadia, his love, would become his worst nightmare. The queen came up with a cruel plan, that would change the world forever.
Nadia and Alexander were once more in their spot in the woods. Where they could be just them without having to hide their love. Standing hand in hand, they swore their vows and promise to love each other for as long as they lived. Before they would seal their marriage with a kiss, they needed to drink the potion. Alexander drank first, but something was not right. As the liquid ran down his throat, his heart froze. His lungs refused to collect air. This is what death must feel like, he thought. As he fell into the everlasting sleep, all he could hear was his beloved’s cries of fear and pain, calling out for him to not go.
When he woke up in the field, he was in a spell circle, red and yellow fire in circled him. His mother stood with her court of witches around it.
“Mother, what is this? What happened? Where is Nadia?” Alexander asked. Worry was clear in his voice.
“O, Gabriel Alexander Jacobs, how you have disappointed me. You are an ungrateful son. We have loved you, fed you, clothed you, given you only the best and this is how you thank us? Marrying against our wishes. What a disappointment, you are.” His mother spoke in a cold voice as she walked around the circle. Alexander did not even hear half of what his mother said, all he was worried about was Nadia.
“Mother, what have you done?! Where is Nadia?!” He screamed in anger and fear.
“Don’t raise your voice at me boy. Nadia is right there.” She said. The witches moved and Nadia laid on the ground unconscious. As Alexander moved to her, the circle’s boundaries warned him by shooting up angry flames. He could not reach her. “She is fine for now. It is when she wakes up, that you should be worried about, my son.” The queen said.
“What have you done, mother?” Alexander asked with fear in his eyes.
“I have planned your punishment, my son. When your belove wakes up, her love for you will turn into hate. She will see red when she sees you. She will attack you, even try to kill you and there will not be a single thing you can do to stop it.” The Queen announces. Alexander did not believe a word his mother said. Nadia’s and his love was to strong. They could never hurt each other. He couldn’t believe it.
Whether he believed it or not, it was true. Nadia opened her eyes and there was no love in them. She truly hated him now. When she saw Alexander, she immediately tried to attack him, the fire pushed open as she ran towards him. He grabbed her arms and tried to reason with her, but her judgement was clouded with hate. She would not stop until she had killed Alexander, but he could not be killed. He had drunk the potion. This was his punishment- seeing the turmoil of his belove. Nadia could not think of anything other than killing Alexander. It was her only reason for breathing- she wanted to kill him- no, she needed to kill him. They fought for hours, the sun had already risen, but Nadia had not given up. She kept on trying to kill the only man she had ever love.
“Nadia, stop, please. This is not you. Fight against it.” Alexander tried to plea with Nadia, but she just screamed and cried as she tried to get out of his hold, only to try and attack him again. He hated to see her in this pain, this exhaustion. He could not bare it. He let her go. She punched him, kicked him, even try to claw at him. Nothing could hurt him. His skin was impenetrable. She fell to her knees, screaming and crying in defeat and exhaustion. Her nails and knuckles were bleeding, her face was covered in tears and sweat. He wanted to hold her, but she would only attack him again.
“If you want her pain to stop, then put an end to it, my son.” The Queen said. She knew it would end up like this. “If you truly care about her, stop her suffering and end it now!” the queen demanded.
“Please mother, I beg you. Stop this. Don’t make me do this.” Alexander cried. He watched his beloved in pure pain.
“You brought this on yourself, Alexander. You chose this. Now end her suffering.” The queen said.
Alexander could not bare this. He could not allow his love to be in pain any longer. As he stood up from his knees and walked towards Nadia after grabbing the ceremonial knife of the wedding alter, she jumped up to attack him again. He grabbed her arms and span her around. He held her back against his chest. The knife they would use to cut each other’s palms as they said their vows was now in Alexanders hand.
“I will love you forever.” Was the last words Alexander said to his love.
The queen smiled in delight as he screamed in agony. Alexander fell to the ground with Nadia in his arms. The light was slowly seeping out of her eyes and when her screams quieted, Alexander knew it was over. He held his one true love close to his chest and cried in pain.
“Do not worry my son. She will return one day. And when she does, she will try to kill you again. This is your punishment. Your eternity will be filled with your beloved’s pain.” His mother said.
The queen thought that she had won, but all she did was upset nature’s balance. Nature’s work is simple, you are born, you live and then you die. That is how it worked, but the queen had changed that and as she planned her son punishment, she had sealed the fates of all her children. As she punished her son, the rest of her children had been punished too. The entire Jacobs bloodline froze, just as Alexander’s heart froze. All the Jacobs Children were immortal now. That was nature’s punishment for the queen.
Nature calls for balance!
Nature also did not like the term immortal and how that would upset the balance. That is why it created a weapon, a weapon that could cut into an immortal’s skin. A weapon that could only be used by the person whose blood was currently on it.
Like I said this is not a love story. This is how love brought down kingdoms and change the world forever. You want to know how the role of an immortal changed the world? Whether or not the reincarnation of Nadia happens? Do you want to know if true love really does conquer it all? Then keep on reading but be warn. This will not end as you think.
