“Forever can never be long enough for me. To feel like I’ve had long enough with you.
Forget the world now, we won’t let them see. But there’s one thing left to do.”
A prenuptial shot on a rooftop of a hospital can be seen in a video while ‘Marry Me’ by Train was played in the background. Prenuptial is very common to a couple who wants to take the next journey of life—Marriage. But what is unique about the couple in the video is their make-up style—they both looked old. Instead of looking like twenty-seven years old, they looked like they were eighty years old.
“Marry me… Today and every day. Marry me… If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this café, say you will… Say you will…”
The background music continues to play until in the middle of the video, you can see the shots had been taken inside the hospital, where the doctors and nurses served as witnesses to the wedding. The woman was wearing a fabulous wedding gown, while the man is in his tuxedo. At that point, the couple no longer looks old. The bride looked gorgeous, while the groom glowed with happiness despite his condition—the man was lying on the hospital bed, obviously frail and the woman held the groom’s hand.
The couple said, “I do” to each other, even without the presence of a priest or a judge, and everyone around them cried their eyes out. It was a beautiful, heartbreaking scene. And the next scene broke the hearts of millions of Californians—the man closed his eyes and never woke up again.
Magnus has no emotion while watching the YouTube video with almost three million views and eleven months have passed since they upload it. He read in his mind the caption of the video below, “Emma Harper and Jude Samson Mock Wedding. A love that goes beyond death. Jude, you will be missed. Emma, stay strong.”
As far as he remembers, the man in the video named Jude died because of leukemia, without marrying his girlfriend, Emma. It was alleged that the couple actually planned to get married despite the fact that Jude will still die, but he gave up when the judge was on his way to the hospital. It was said that Jude’s body collapsed suddenly.
When Jude and Emma probably realized what will happen, the two just get married on their own. Like a cliched movie plot, just minutes after their “I do’s”, Jude died in Emma’s arms.
Thus, a new YouTube sensation was born.
Magnus yawned. “I’ve seen all this before,” he said.
“That’s harsh,” commented his friend Dash, who was watching the video with him. “Their love story is quite heartbreaking, you know.”
Magnus looked at Dash. He noticed that his friend’s eyes were red as Dash sniffed the tissue. “I really don’t get why this video is still popular. Every minute, someone dies, a wife or girlfriend, husband or boyfriend who losses a partner too. Why this?”
Dash then pointed to the recommended videos on the side of the video they had watched earlier—it was all about Jude and Emma. “That’s because Jude and Emma are already pretty famous. Emma’s Lovely Tee House—which is a clothing line is well known because of their couple and statement shirts. Whenever she has a new design coming out on the market, she and Jude make a three-minute short film to promote their T-shirts. Jude, on the other hand, was a resto-bar owner and a part-time model. Since then, many people already knew them. Because of their sweet videos, they became a famous couple on the Internet. And when that tragedy happened, the hearts of their fans and followers were broken.”
That probably the explanation why that video was still on trend even though eleven months had passed when Jude died, especially his fiancé, Emma who is still often talked about. In fact, the demand for their love story that is possible to be made into a movie is still high.
And that’s where Magnus enters the scene, as he a well-known movie producer. Well, his parents were the ones who were fortunate, but since his parents handed over the company to him just a year ago, he’s the one now who’s running their business.
He’s already the President of Coleman Films, and Dash who is his close friend is one of their great young directors. Dash was the director of the first movie he produced, which became a blockbuster hit last year.
“And you know, Ethan is my friend—Emma’s twin brother,” Dash continued in a sad voice, as he peeled his lollipop. “Emma and I never get close, but I still feel sorry for her, I also somehow followed her love story with Jude. I saw how much Emma fought, even though she, not the one who was sick.
Magnus was still unmoved. As a movie producer, he has heard and watched such a story as Emma’s and Jude, several times. He doesn’t feel sorry for Emma because she is still young, he knows that she will still be able to find a new boyfriend one day. A person’s world won’t stop if his partner dies.
He shouldn’t have plans to film the love story of Emma and Jude, but the demand in making the story into a movie is increasing. As a producer, he couldn’t just ignore the demand, especially when he heard that other producers also are interested in it.
It’s been two months since he started contacting Emma. The woman doesn’t want to show herself. So, they only communicate through email. Emma, on the other hand, agreed to make a movie of her love story with Jude, but she has not signed the contract yet so there is no final decision yet for both parties.
He was also afraid that other production companies might get her first because the woman doesn’t reply to his emails anymore. And Magnus won’t let that happen.
Magnus turned in Dash's direction who was currently savoring his lollipop inside his mouth. “Have you contacted Ethan yet?”
“Yes. He’s willing to personally introduce us to his twin sister, Emma. So, we are scheduled to go to their house later.”
Magnus stood up. “Then, let’s go.”
