The term stick to the devil you know has never been more right for me.
Right at this very moment I was staring at Mr. Careful through teary eyes. The hurt I felt was absolutely stifling. I kept on saying to myself that this was nothing more than an obstacle I had to overcome. I could not let this way me down.
I had two choices but now it was obvious that one was better than the other.
As I stood outside the café, I watched as Mr. Careful caressed her hand and whispered sweet nothings in her ear. I even watched as they exchanges kisses like a couple on honeymoon. I felt devastated because he made me actually consider leaving Mr. Risk, and what for to be lied to and cheated on.
You might be asking what is so hard in choosing between two men. I will tell you what is hard..
As a woman and evaluating process has to take place which I had already done.
1. The person with whom I spent my entire life with should bring some sort of calm to the storm that brewed when I began losing control. Of course Mr. Careful checked that box with a perfect score because he would ensure emotional stability for me which is very necessary.
2. I should be able to be myself, no filter. Mr. Risk checked that box providing that I did not feel the need to be the best of me all the time around him, I could be crazy and he would just add to it with more craziness, we all know that sometimes that is not healthy but it is sometimes needed.
3. The person should be financially stable. Mr. Careful kind of check that box being that he and I almost work the same wages him being a bit higher than mine but never the less he was always stingy when it came to giving others cash, while Mr. Risk hardly made anything and would give his last to save someone's life.
4. I should trust the person I love. That was automatically won by Mr. Careful because he always gave me a sense of security.
5. Not afraid to try new things. I already have the fear of trying new things so anyone I end up with should be able to get me out of my comfort zone. Mr. Risk did that.
6. Should not care about labels. Mr. Risk could care less about labels he wanted what he wanted and if he did not get it he would still try but if he still lost he would admit that it was a challenge worth trying. He just wanted a companion in a partner. While Mr. Careful cared about everything that came with the label so that meant he would feel the need to control me as an individual and my mother did not raise me to be ruled by any man.
So as you can see it is at tie. That is how I just decided to pop in on both men to see what surprises I would get. Automatically Mr. Careful lost. Time to see what Mr. Risk is up to.
