Chapter- 1: Happy Birthday
“Wake up June”, it’s your birthday today chirped Mia excitedly. She was running around opening the curtains to let the sun enter the room. Mia looked down at her still sleeping angel; Mia has only June to call her like family. One would never imagine a promising businesswoman like Mia to be so adorable to her sister. Indeed she canceled all her appointments just to be with her sister and spend this entire day making her happy. She turned around to see her little angel prying through the duvet and enjoying how a business tigress is bustling happily and arranging the room. Seriously, “Sissy, we have maids to these chores and my boss is doing these simple chores, I can’t believe this said June as she tossed around the bed”. Now, it is just a birthday don’t fuss yourselves.
I am so sorry. You had to cancel such an important meeting, just to spend the day with me. I can still enjoy the day, though I will miss you. I will be relieved to find out that I have not spoiled my Sister’s work said June.
Mia shot a glare she tried to look like a strict warden but couldn’t control her smile for long. She spoke to her with so much love “Baby If one thing I love doing other than my business then just know that it is only about taking care of you”. Never say that you don’t want me doing this for you. I can give up anything for you, but never you, “my love”.
June shot out of her bed and ran to Mia and began crying into her arms. “I am sorry Mia; I didn’t mean to hurt you”. I love you so much. I can give up my life just to make you happy. Mia tapped on her head while she warned her not to speak so. June pouted her beautiful lips and said Okay, I promise I will be a good girl from here on. See I am going to keep up my promise; I will be back ready to go out within an hour serious. I’ll let Mia make it a special birthday for me. Mia rolled her eyes looking at June’s determination. She went down chuckling to herself, June and her promises, “This one I have got to see”.
June came running down the stairs exactly at 8.55 am and she bowed down to Mia saying, “Your little Princess is at your service”. Mia was known as a woman who doesn’t know to laugh, but her assistant’s jaw dropped when she found her boss was holding her stomach and bending down with laughter, the entire mansion was astonished to find her laughing. They have never seen their boss with a smile on her face. June felt incredible when she found her sister laughing.
If I can make her laugh, I will see to that this laughter sticks to my sister ever after thought June. While Mia steadied herself and said come on, dress up properly and come back. I will be waiting for you.
June ran back to her room. She came back wearing bright blue jeans paired with a white t-shirt. The dress was simple but her perfect figure made the dress radiate her beauty. She pulled her hair into a ponytail, her bountiful tresses just adds more beauty to her and anyone who passes by will not leave without a second look.
While she climbed down the stairs her phone rang. “Hello Emma, so early in the morning!” said June.
“Happy Birthday, darling” bellowed Emma. I just landed here and I am on the way to the hotel. I missed being with you today, it is all my PR’s fault. June smiled while she was imagining her dearest friend’s anger.
“It’s Okay! I miss you too. But profession comes first you are climbing quickly on your career if you do not handle the schedules properly you might end up earning a bad reputation. It's okay with me you know.
Come back and we shall have fun. Emma relaxed a bit and said yes. Meanwhile, she had to hang up the phone as she came to the hotel where she had to check-in.
Mia observed June who was so engrossed with her phone, her face fell, for a split second had June looked into Mia’s face she would have dropped dead then and there,
When June looked up she found Mia giving her a blank stare, “June shifted uncomfortably in her chair, while she was negotiating with herself whether to say about Emma or not”.
June knew Mia’s possessiveness and her hatred towards Emma. She could never understand the reason why Mia hated Emma so much.
Anyone who was with Emma knew how friendly she is and a good soul too. June loved her friend as much as she loved her sister.
After the incident that happened three years ago, June always maintained her friendship in secrecy. She still remembers how Emma used to say sarcastically, “Thank God June, I am not a guy who would have married you, or else I will have to bear your sister’s wrath all through my life”.
It was a rainy day then, she was on her way back from school. Emma bought her first bike and she wanted to ride with June. June had the habit of notifying her sister where ever she went. So she tried reaching Mia but couldn’t speak with her instead Hilda Mia’s secretary picked the call and promised to inform her about her outing plan. But it was a busy day for Mia. She was in a rage and practically she was bringing down her office all the staffs were panicking, as they were vulnerable and anyone who said a word which might look stupid in front of their boss they are for sure to visit the hell.
After driving her staff crazy, she returned home only to find her sister missing. When she inquired her staff's they too didn’t know. Mia left home while Hilda was still busy arranging for the next day's project meeting and she completely forgot about June’s news.
While June met with a small accident she had to be taken to the hospital. By the time June came around it was early in the morning. Emma tried to get back home to inform her sister but as there was no one to take care of June, she preferred to stay back. But when Emma prepared to leave the hospital and meet Mia. Mia herself entered the hospital room like a demon trying to take on its prey. Mia tried to gun down Emma.
Before everyone could realize what happened Mia almost shot Emma. It was June’s effort that made Emma stay alive.
No matter what June and Emma tried to say to Mia, Mia believed for certain that Emma tried to kill June.
Finally, June promised Mia that she will never go out with her friends and to excuse Emma for her sake that Emma and June’s friendship landed into a secret relationship.
Shaking June’s head she looked at Mia, but by now Mia calmed herself and said “Eat”.
June quickly tucked in and finished her breakfast. She thought “Is Mia still angry with me?” June called out Mia and asked, “Hey, are you not going to come along?”
Mia looked at her thoughtfully and then left for her car.
June just wished this day should be a memorable one and she hopped into the car and gave her sister a bear hug and a kiss just to cool her down.
“I know you are mad at me for talking with Emma again, but I swear she loves me too. Won’t you accept her at least for my sake?” asked June with a puppy face. Mia held her facial structure as rigid as possible.
“It was such a small mistake, Mia it was me who made the mistake the other day I lied to Emma that I knew to ride my bike. I told you so many times, still, you choose not to believe your sister” June pouted yet she found no reaction.
“Come on, don’t be a spoilsport”, sniffled June and tried to climb down the car.
Mia pulled her into a hug and held her as if she is holding a just born baby and said, “I respect your feelings June, if not Emma will not be alive to date”.
“I told you, you are my life. To date I have not spared my enemies. Anybody who tries to hurt intentionally or not I treat them the same”.
June looked at her sister with love and fear while Mia, “I will not come in between your friendship. I knew for a long time that you continue your friendship with her. But I am just waiting for one opportunity to settle the matters once for all. Hope Emma doesn’t give me a chance to do so.”
Though Mia’s voice was cool June knew for sure that she meant every single letter.
June looked at her sister with confidence and said “Neither you nor Emma will fail me, I know that for sure. I don’t need to doubt that you know”.
Mia felt like June slapped her by comparing her love and affection with Emma’s. But she also knew June’s love towards her. So she chose to keep quiet. She didn’t want to spoil the day.
“Are we going to stay in this car, right here for eternity?” pouted June.
“Am I the one who started all this?” asked Mia.
“Oh Come on! Seriously, are you starting it right from the top?” blurted June in disbelief.
Mia chuckled softly and gave up her anger. “Belle what are you looking at? Let’s leave.
She turned to Hilda and asked, “Is everything ready?”
Hilda is a promising secretary and an efficient one too. She remembered the day when Mia flew into a rage and assigned an entire task force to search for June. Hilda still considers that as her black day, not that she has ever seen her boss like that. But the anger she had was something that cannot be described. Hilda felt that Mia turned herself into a demon and she could kill anything that crosses between her and her sister.
It was her mistake that she didn’t completely enquire about June’s outing plan a casual evening playtime turned out as a disastrous day just because of her carelessness. Hilda knew her boss, though she is like an iceberg; she is like ice in front of her sister.
Mia had to take up her father’s position as a CEO of Adam’s Empire, she was a naive girl but she etched herself into a badass business tycoon to protect her family business and her little sister.
She was just 21 and was doing her management studies abroad when her parents met with an accident. She still has the security agents and detectives working on the real reason and the culprits responsible for their parent’s death.
She was an understanding boss who knew how to run the management efficiently without showing power. But when she found out the two hooligans who were involved in the crime disguising themselves as waiters and drugged their parents before they left the party. She killed them without mercy. She made them beg for their death such as her torture. She is determined to find the real culprit behind this crime and she wishes to make her enemy see the hell before he dies.
It was that day when she had the first doubt on her parent’s death that she closed herself and became overprotective of her little sister.
It was no wonder to Hilda that such a boss forgave her mistake just because of June. Hilda never before and never after that black day allowed mistakes.
Hilda smiled back at her boss and said, “All set”.
Mia leaned back in her car watching her little sister listening to her favorite music.
Mia knew nothing can pull down June’s happiness. June knew very well to turn any situation into an enjoyable one.
Mia promised to make this happy birthday a much adorable one.
