Taking a drag from my cigarette, the tiny red dot is all I see in the darkness.
The smoke filles my lungs, closing my eyes, exhaling slowly the cloud of smoke leaves my mouth.
"Fuck!" I curse silently as my eyes shot open and heart speeds up. The voice in my head urges me on to move.
Now. Run.!
I run to my car, well if you could call it that. The heep of metal has been my home for the past five years, it barely starts at times.
The splash of puddles under my boots is the only sound I hear in the dark alley. I pick up my speed. I can smell them.
I get in my car please start, don't fail me now. Not today. I pray and as I'm heard the heap of metal starts. I speed away leaving a cloud of grey smoke behind.
They are gaining on me. It use to take them at least a month to track me down. Am I getting sloppy? The thoughts keep on spinning in my head as I exit onto the highway. My adrenaline starts to fade and my heart starts to beat at a normal pace. A breath of air leaves my lungs I finally sink into my seat, relaxing a bit.
I drive for almost an hour before stopping at a gas station. I fill up the tank then go buy some energy drinks, sweet sticks and a pack of sigarets. I know the next day would be long. I need to gain some ground between me and those damn trackers.
It takes me a se ond to make a decision on where to go. I drive north, it would not take them long to figure out what direction I'm going.
I have been driving for hours only stopping for gas and bathroom breaks. The sun has set so I figured I would drive for a least a few more hours and then get some sleep.
As I drive the quieter the road is getting no lights and no cars passed by me in a long time. Looking outside the trees fly by in a blur, I roll down the window and the fresh cool air hits my face waking me up. I inhale the air it feels like forever I have inhaled something so fresh.
My eyes grew heavy with every passing hour. I close the window as my cheeks are as cold as ice. The only sound coming from the radio is static.
The car is swerving across the road grabbing me from my drowsy state. The car comes to an abrupt hault.
"Shit!" I curse to myself. My head falls back against the head rest.
What am I doing? Shit! Shit! Get you head together. I keep on scolding myself.
I look to the side and notice a small dirt road leading into the forest. I park the car just behind a few trees so that it's hidden from the road. I shut off the lights and the silence devours me.
Looking at the time it's 9pm I decide to take a break for a few hours.
Soon sleep took over.
"Cry... Just once. I want you to scream for me then all this will be over. Bitch! You are nothing!" Alpha Declan screams in my face just like always. My body, battered. The whip retracts and then cuts threw my skin repeatedly. Please can somebody help me I begged inside my thoughts. No one every came. Why would they. No one ever cared.
" Soon I will take what is rightfully mine! " the piece of shit standing in front of me whispers in my ear. A shiver ran down my spine. I would rather die...
My eyes shot open as I am yanked from my nightmare. My heart starts to pound in my chest. Something is out there, my wolf is scratching under my skin to come out.
Slowly I turn on the lights. My heart is racing with every passing second.
Beads of sweat forms on my forehead. A tracker is standing in front of the car his eyes reflecting back at me. I scramble to get out of the car it is the only way for me to have a chance at surving.
I shift into my grey wolf mid air and bolt in the opposite direction. I did not care where I was heading all I know is to get away from him.
My paws are digging into the earth beneath me. My fur is ripped out by the tree branches and bark but I feel no pain as it's replaced by adrenaline. Suddenly a second wolf tackles me to the ground leaving a big gash on my hind leg but no time for tears now. I jump up and sprint away every passing movement my leg feels like the flesh is tearing more and more. All I could hear are the two angry wolves behind me growling and snarling. They are gaining on me.
I pump my legs to go faster but it feels like I'm carrying a ton of bricks on my back.
The rain starts to poors down on us.
Great! Just my luck!
The rain makes it hard to see where I'm going. The mud slows me down to the point that it feels like I'm barely moving but the shield I pass threw makes it clear I have just entered unknown territory.
I would usually avoid other packs but now I have no choice. I ran to a big clearing when I'm tackled to the ground. I recognise the wolf on top of me, he pins me down as his muzzle is inches away from my throat. He is one of the Alphas strongest and most skilled tracker, no wonder he found me so easily.
The second wolf joins us, both have started to circle around me ready to attack.
We all are startled by the ferocious growling of a wolf it sends panic through me. They both look in the direction of the sound panic spread across their faces. I fall to the ground my body unable to stand any longer.
I drif in and out of continousness trying to get to my feet but it no use, I close my eyes as the shadow like figure before me attacks as my eyes fell closed.
The sickening sound of wolves growling and bones breaking fills the air as I try and force my eyes to open but to no avail.
Everything goes silent.
Darkness claimes me.
