It was the first day of the new session. Katie was now in her senior year but nothing thrilled her about it. Firstly because her two best friends will be attending a different school around which they said to be the school where "everything happens". Secondly, she thought her new uniform looked ugly as it didn't give her the smart air hostess look it was designed to give. She stared at it again in the mirror and really missed her old junior school uniform which was very petite and brought out the little curves her tiny body had. “You look great" her mom said. "Of course, you're a mom that's what you're meant to say" Katie thought. " I am going to just run through senior year, stay invisible, keep up my good grades and avoid any distraction". Katie agreed with her head and headed out. Everyone always said Senior year came with lots of distractions but Katie didn't think that anything could possibly distract her.
Katie entered her new class without any enthusiasm. She saw the other students were all busy chitchatting about the holidays. Some of the girls already had their own groups which she knew she wasn't going to be part of any as her friends weren't attending the school anymore. Katie smiled and replied to those who cared to say hi to her then she sat at the front of the class and buried her nose in a book. She didn't notice when he entered the classroom, he wasn't introduced either as it was the first day of school and everyone was meant to socialize and get to know each other but as Katie kept to herself she did not notice the new student in her class until their first lesson. He was so outspoken and he did things that made the class fun and even when the teacher picked on him, he proved to be really smart. Katie observed as all the other girls swarmed around him already because he looked so dreamy as a guy. What's more, he played basketball really well and was soon put on the school team. He was really popular among all the girls and guys even on the very first day of school. "Wow, he's already popular in a day than I have ever been". Katie thought. Though she had planned to be invisible throughout senior year, she didn't know why but a part of her really wanted to be friends with him. "Get yourself together Katie" Her head told her. This jerked her back as she remembered she already promised not to let anything distract her and he was obviously going to be a distraction. Miss Taylor soon walked into the class to divide them into their departments. Katie was shocked that he was in Sciences just like her. He looked like art material to her. Most of the players and pretty girls were in the arts department but there he was, a classmate of hers but still they never crossed part.
Days passed and Katie remained invisible well except amongst the teachers. She was very popular among them because of her good grades and quiet nature. He was also popular among them because he was nice, super friendly and smart. He once had the whole class at his place after school one Friday. He invited everyone but she didn't go as she wasn't interested in video games or any partying but she heard it was fun. Not like anyone would be expecting her anyways she just wished they'd stop ranting about it on a Monday morning.
"Would you please return this textbook to it's owner". Miss Taylor said handing out a Chemistry Textbook to her. "Yeah sure". She answered collecting the book from her. 'ALEX ANDREAS' It read. Katie froze hoping it didn't belong to who she was thinking. Everyone called him ALEXANDRE with she thought was weird. She always thought it was like a cool way of saying ALEXANDER but now she realized where it was coined from.
