Miranda's POV

In the busy street of Trempest, I, Miranda Clourel, blessed the city with my enthusiasm on the way to explore a new museum that opened to the public today. It has always been a hobby of mine, obsessing about antiques. And this day, the city is graced with new parts of history.

Excitement filled me, hopping my way to the museum, but as soon as I got there, the light slipped off my face. There were already so many people lining up for a ticket, and I sighed heavily.

It is to be expected. I'm not the only one fond of museums, plus I am late for its opening! Work was hectic as always, and they issued over time. Releasing another heavy breath, I walk towards the entrance with slouched back.

As expected of my city, they found ancient hairpins, vases, golden plates, and what seemed to be an armor part of some sort. It has always fascinated me that they can afford these items and display them for free in museums. Well, who am I to complain when it satisfies my craving for ancient things?

After I was done exploring the museum, I went to the exit, and to my surprise, it was already dark. I glanced at my wristwatch to see it was not that late. It's just cloudy, and it seems like it was about to rain.

"I better get home quickly," I murmured.

There were two ways home, a safe route but a bit far from the station or the short cut but there are rumors that you get robbed there pretty easily. Judging from the weather, there should not be any robbers in Corelia Street. They are also known for being an antique street.

"Right! I have to hurry!" I exclaimed, marching towards Corelia Street.

In the middle of my striding, the tiny droplets of incoming rain hit my arm, and it was time to run. Not even close to the station, the rain poured. I had to stay sheltered in front of a store. It's somehow getting cold.

Behind me was a shop selling antiques and a beautiful hairpin is displayed through the glass. It enchanted me with its beautiful bud of roses design. It was hard not to take my eyes off it. I gaze down and my eyes widened seeing the price!

My pocket instantly felt heavy. It was worth half my monthly salary! Gosh, it was hella expensive! I can imagine myself eating instant noodles for the whole month. But that idea wasn't that bad, so I entered the shop and decided to buy the hairpin.

"That hairpin suits you, my dear," the old man said as he handed the hairpin. "It was said to belong to a king who wanted to give that hairpin to his bride, and you are a right of a match to him."

I couldn't help but chuckle at the old man. A king and me? A match for him? I would gladly marry a king, but kings are far out of my league in this world.

"That's just a good jest, sir. I can't even find a boyfriend how much more a royalty." I chuckled.

"Oh, you'll never know what mystery this world has, young lady."

"Thank you, sir."

I flashed a smile before exiting the shop. The conversation was kinda weird. Surprisingly enough, the rain had stopped as well.

At home, I cried dramatically, unpacking the expensive hairpin. I squinted in front of the mirror, sat down, and started fixing my hair to put it on. Once again, my eyes sparkled to see how beautiful my first investment in antiques was.

After two hours of adoring the hairpin, it finally struck me that it was late so I put it down and decided it was time for bed.

When I opened my eyes, thin lines appeared in between my brows, gazing at what was supposed to be my white ceiling. I abruptly sit up when the surrounding wasn't like my room.

"Where in the world?" I asked when my feet touched the floor and carefully exited the room.

"Hello?"

When no one came, I decided to leave that hall.

Exploring the ways, I reckon that it’s a castle. The view was breathtaking, the gates were as high as an evergreen tree, the pillars were huge like that of the museum and the hallways were like mazes. Everything there was spectacular and everything I found in that new museum was inside. The difference is that everything in this castle was shiny and no parts of an artifact are missing.

"Am I dreaming? Why does this feel so real?" My thoughts escaped me.

In the throne room, a painting of a handsome man who wore a crown greeted me. If I am not mistaken it's the King. His electric eyes were beautiful and at the same time calm. It was mesmerizing that my eyes stayed gazing.

It was calling me and my feet moved on their own.

Getting near it, my eyes flung open, and my breathing heaved. I sit up and look around. It's finally my room but my eyes darted at the glowing thing on my desk.

"Am I still dreaming?" I murmured while getting up.

Slowly, I stride towards the desk. My brows instantly furrowed seeing the glow coming from my newly bought hairpin. As I reached for it, I had a glimpse of the mirror in front and my eyes grew round when a reflection of a man appeared in it.

The man in my dream! There was no crown in his head but his features I memorized. His hand reached for me, summoning me to come and lift my finger. It was as if a spirit possessed me and my hand slowly lifted on its own, aligning our fingers.

The reflection in the mirror smiled and when I gaze into his eyes, I was engulfed with the darkness that made me close mine.

Once more my eyes snapped open and immediately, I recognized the ceiling wasn't mine again. Is this another dream?

The softness of the bed was different and turning to the right side, my eyes grew large at the sight of a man with only his pants on.

My eyes were blessed with his noticeably muscular smoking-hot body! But the moment my head raise to see his face, those undeniably gorgeous electric blue eyes, flickering and his thick brows drawn together, I couldn't help but scream, pushing him off the bed.

"Who the hell are you?!"
