I'm currently here at my grandmother's place to practice. I'm currently shooting bullets and trying to hit the middle part, where the target is. I confidently raised my gun and shot all three of the ranges. I removed my glasses and earmuffs and waited for Sir Zeph to come back after checking the targets.
He greeted me with a slow clap when he came.
"You aced it all. What do you want to do next?" I drank from my water bottle while thinking of another thing to do. A thought came into my mind. I've been planning on asking him this. This might be a good time.
"One on one?" I quietly asked. I've always wanted to fight my mentor. I mean, he's basically teaching me but I have yet to discover how much growth I did after starting training.
He eyed me and after careful consideration, he agreed. I smiled with delight. I need to win this.
"Okay. First to fall loses." I nodded eagerly.
We both went inside the ring. We were both waiting on who's going to be the first to attack. He taught me that I shouldn't start the battle by attacking first since they would then know how I move. I mean, I'm just doing this for fun but martial arts is the only one making my life meaningful. I'm not like my peculiar sisters who have abilities to master and histories to memorize.
In the end, he attacked first. I dodged his attack and tried to counter it, but he already knew. I just dodged every attack while finding a loophole. That's the best I can do this time so that we won't obtain a large injury . When I found one, I didn't make it obvious yet and waited for the right time. A while later, when he was about to kick my foot, I punched his waist and kicked her foot sideways to make him unbalanced. After that, I gave him another kick on the side that made him fall on the ground.
I immediately helped him get up afterwards. "You won. Congrats." He said while removing dust on his pants.
"Thank you!" I smiled at him. I really like his compliments. It makes me feel strong and it adds confidence to myself.
Grandma entered the room with a plate full of biscuits and two glasses of juice. She’s always like this, so caring and sweet.
"How's your training today?" Grandma asked. She pulled us to the table to eat the food she brought.
"We battled. She won." Sir Zeph simply said. I blushed as I remembered how I did it a while ago.
"Sir Zeph was just easy on me. Don't believe him." I got a biscuit and ate it.
Sir Zeph also told my grandmother my achievements today. I just kept eating biscuits while they were talking.
I have been training in martial arts since the age of thirteen. At first it was because I wasn't like my sisters who can protect themselves with their abilities. But I've learned to enjoy and love it, and here I am now still doing my best to become useful. When I was a beginner, we just started with karate, taekwondo, and judo but now we've advanced to gun handling, survival tactics, and the newest is kickboxing and boxing.
I saw how Sir Zeph kept looking at her watch, pertaining that he has an appointment today. I stood up and told him that I'm going to take a shower, marking the end of our training.
"See you next weekend, Simone." Sir Zeph waved goodbye. Grandma was going to show him out so I went to the bathroom to take a bath. I just took a quick bath and wore a black shirt and shorts.
"Are you not going home yet? You need to pack up." Grandma asked when I went out.
Today's Sunday and I need to get ready to go to my new school. The school where I'm not even appropriate for that school.
My sisters study there and my parents thought my ability might stand out after I enter the school.
"I'm going to walk home. It's just a few streets away anyway." I sat down on the chair and drank my juice. I was shocked when grandma suddenly pushed me outside the door.
"It's already dark. You should go now!" Grandma stopped pushing me. I faced grandma again with a sad face.
"Do I really need to enter that school? I mean I'm not even peculiar—" Grandma cut me off and enveloped me into a hug.
"You still have months until you're eighteen. Don't lose hope okay? Being normal isn't a crime." I smiled sadly. I'm not saying that I hate being normal, but why is there a need to enroll me to a school where I'm not meant to be there.
"Then I should just wait till I'm eight-" Lola likes cutting me off these days. She stopped hugging me and put her hands on my shoulders.
"Your father already said it. You know that you can't change his mind. Besides, seventeen is the required age to enter there. You'll do great okay?" I nodded and went back to get my bag and necklace.
The necklace was made by my mother. It looks like a normal diamond necklace but it can also send a distress signal to the nearest family member. We all have something like this except in different forms. One's a ring, a bracelet, a necklace, an earring, a part of a watch, and cufflinks.
I have triplets as sisters. They're the best and they always like to take their time to talk to me about things.
I bade farewell and left my grandma's residence.
No transportation comes here except for private cars since this is a private subdivision. So I'll really be walking all the way to our house.
While walking, I felt someone following me. I quickly paced my walking and I was right since I heard a leaf breaking. I turned around. I think these are the gangsters that lived here. They all look drunk, especially the man in front.
"Hey miss, why are you here alone? Do you want to join us?" I think he's the leader.
"No need, I can handle myself." I told him with a slight hint of disgust. He tried to reach me so I quickly backed away.
"Beautiful girls like you shouldn't be outside this time. Come on, we'll make you happy tonight." 7 isn't even past my bedtime. It's still early in the night.
I was shocked when someone held my hand. Out of reflex, I kicked him and pushed him away. Because of his drunken state, he quickly fellon the cold ground.
"Ouch!" He wailed.
"You’re so weak. If you can beat me, then I’ll go with you." I’m confident that I can finish everyone here since they’re all half asleep now because of the effect of the alcohol.
"Get her!" He screamed and they all followed his command. I quickly went to a fighting position and waited for them to come near me. They’re a total of thirteen men here. Some are armed with small weapons but I can just use one of theirs after I take down one.
I thought of pushing my necklace to send a distress signal, but I decided not to. I’ll only click it if I’m on the verge of dying.
The one coming to me has a shard of glass in his hand. I quickly avoided his attacks and punched him straight to the face. I was shocked how he had already fallen asleep after that. The power of alcohol.
Three people started coming to me at the same time. They were cautious and scared.
I smirked at how they are so easy to take down. They were too drunk to even stand up.
I was too bored that I began coming to them instead. Their punches were so weak and the persons with a weapon on their hand were so easy to take down.
"Ah!" I screamed after I felt a sharp object come in contact with my left waist. He removed it so I felt blood starting to fall down my body. I quickly held it with my left hand to prevent it from removing too much blood.
While I was holding my waist on my left hand, I quickly performed a trick to get the knife from this person’s hand. I kicked his middle part and put the knife on his feet.
I had no plans on hurting anyone but they played dirty. I stood up and moved away from the person. His odor isn’t something I can tolerate.
I went over to a person with a baseball bat. I quickly punched him in the face and got his bat. I then threw the bat to a side where 5 people were all packed together. Just like how bowling pins fall down after a strike, these drunk humans did too.
They all stumbled down together like a sandwich. I saw a man in my peripheral vision throwing a knife to me. I quickly tilted my head and it had been stuck to a tree. I ran to the tree while holding my injured waist and got the knife. I swiftly threw it to his thighs.
I laughed out loud when I saw what happened. The ones left were surrounding the leader and when I threw the knife to one’s thigh, they all fell and they all fainted.
I looked around, I think nobody can stand up now because of their drunken state.
The leader got a scared face painted on his. I stood in front of him, making him more scared.
"I-I h-have an a-ability! Back off!” His voice was shivering so badly. I bowed down at him and handed him the knife I was holding.
“Then you should've used it before all of this." I bid him goodbye and quickly got my backpack.
