Edward's POV
"Mr. Kingston, Robert called me and asked you to be at his office," Anne knocked at my door. Why on the earth I should be there? I don’t want to. I kept my silence and moved my swiveled chair side to side. "Mr. Kingston, please. It’s important. Robert needs you to sign some papers," she pleaded. I heaved a sigh and massaged my temple. “Just ten minutes, Sir, and you’re free to go wherever you wish.”
Shit! They are not going to leave me, aren’t they? Fuck. They’re adding to my hangover. Damn. There’s no point in resisting.
"Okay, I'll go. Now leave me alone.”
"He asked you to meet him at 12 and it's already 11:30 so—
This girl’s getting into my nerves. Why can’t she just shut up?!
"Do you think I fucking care?! I’ll go when I wanted. Don't treat me like a baby who doesn’t even know how to open my eyes. Got it?Now leave out of my face and focus on your shitty works!” I yelled at her. She shivered in fear and nodded her head several times.
"Okay sir, as you wish," she stuttered. A tear escaped her eyes as she turns away from me but the hell do I care? Wasn’t my fault. I closed the door of my office and went to my personal space inside. The bed was messy but I didn’t care. I threw myself on it and went to sleep. No one can tell me when to go.
The sound of my phone woke my senses up as I slowly opened my eyes. I searched for my phone and checked who called. 40 missed calls from Rob. Shit! I looked at the time; it’s already four in the afternoon. He really wouldn’t leave me alone.

Robert’s grim face greeted me as I walked inside his office. The son of the two pilots who saved my life is angry at me. Cool.
"I asked you to be here at 12. It’s already 6, idiot. Why are you late and what's that in your hand?" he asked. I turned to my hand and smiled.
“Oh, this? I stopped at a bar before coming here. Wanna drink?” I casually said.
"Ed, enough. Throw that away. You’re slowly killing yourself! Can't you see that? When was the last time you looked in the mirror? You’re no longer the same Edward as three years ago."
"Yeah, you are right. I'm not the old Edward. This is the new version of me and I love myself
this way."
“What’s great with that life? Too lazy to do anything, only consuming alcohol, what are you
planning to do next? Drugs?"
"Nothing," I grinned.
"Ed, please try."
"Enough, smuck off your fucking pity face and tell me where to sign. There’s something more
important that I needed to do. I'm running out of my drinks."
“What the—. “Just sign these papers. The Ruby company is done with you. They are not going to
contribute to your business anymore."
"Oh great! Kindly tell them to invite me if ever they host a party for this. I’m sure I’d get free
drinks,” I smirked and grabbed the pen from his desk. I bent down and without hesitation, I
signed the papers.
“Ed? What the fuck! This is the 20th company that’s going to leave! Aren’t you concerned? We
only have two investors left and I’ve heard that they’re also planning to cut the ties! What the
hell are you doing? Wake up! The company you've built for 5 years is collapsing and all our
staffs are worried about you. 45% of our workers already resigned. If you continue to be like
this, there will be no future for you."
"You know what? You’re making no sense. Just let me do my thing! Do you think I care? Heck,
I don’t! That's it, I'm done." The room fell into deep silence and all I can hear was the sound of
the nib of the pen as I continue to sign the papers.
I was nearly done with my work when I saw him about to open his mouth in my peripheral view.
But before he could say a word, his phone rang. This is the perfect time to escape from him. I
don’t have time to deal with his scolding and his so-called “heart-melting concern”.
I turned around as was about to leave when what he said made me stop.
"Oh fuck, no, no this can't happen. This cannot be! Shit! How the hell did I forget about this!”
