CHAPTER ONE
Ruby sat down in the café sipping coffee, staring at her designer’s watch from time to time, it seemed like she was currently waiting for someone to appear. A waitress came forward to her beaming smiles and asked
“Ruby darling, how are you doing today.”
“I am doing awesome, Mariela. How is your shift going?” Ruby asked beaming at her friend Mariela.
“My shift is a nightmare; I can’t wait for it to be over. It has been over thirty minutes you came.
It seems like your friend is running a little bit late. Do you want to order now or do you want to keep waiting?”
“I will wait a little bit longer, my colleague is apparently running late, but, I would love a refill of the coffee, please.” Ruby said dropping the empty mug of coffee back on the table. Mariela took it and smiled before going to refill it for her. Just then, the doorbell chimed as the new comer walked in. from where she sat, Ruby could make her out, wearing old baggy clothes, making her body not to have any shape, and wearing a cap which she dragged down covering her face, the newcomer made her way to her table and sat down.
Ruby took a cursory look, as she tried to define the stranger in front of her.
“Sorry, I am late, I had a bit of a problem locating this place, and also I had to flee, when my boss wasn’t around. The girl replied, her face still down.
“You got a lot of explaining to do, now take the damned cap off, and let me see your face. Ruby said leaning forward, her voice a bit edgy, and mad.
The girl, slowly took off her cap and said “Hi, I am Randy, and your doppelganger.” Randy said as Ruby gasped back in fear, staring at her identical replica of herself.
Mariela, came forward with the coffee for Ruby, but gasped when she saw that she was no longer alone, and worse, they were two of them, the mug slipped from her hand and felt to the ground, smashing into bits.
Randy and Ruby didn’t even glance at Mariela as they were lost staring in each other’s face. “How is this possible? Ruby asked, blinking her eyes.
“I don’t know, but I came here for a purpose, and you are the best person now to help me. Randy said as she proceeded to tell her why she came.

“What! What do you mean?” Ruby said sipping from her coffee staring at the identical stranger in front of her.
“Look, it is simple. You are me and I am you. I know it is a lot to ask, considering the fact that we just met, but I have to do ask you for this favor. You are my sister, my twin.” Randy said earnestly begging her.
“First of all, I am the only child, second of all, I have real parents and there is a reasonable explanation for you looking like me, you are just my lookalike, that is it.” Ruby said shaking her head.
“Ok, fine, maybe I am not, but come on, I really need this, just for a day, let me be an average teenager and go to school, it has been my dream and you hate school, so it is a win-win. I go to school; you get a day off.”
“That is tempting, but what is the catch?” Ruby said narrowing her eyes at the stranger.
“You just have to be my boss secretary, for a day. That’s it. 24 hours and we switch back and I never disturb you ever again.” Randy said hoping that she will agree.
“Hmm, I guess, after all I will get to miss school, but who is the name of your boss.” Ruby said as she dropped the mug of coffee, back on the table. Randy had worn back, her cap, to remove suspicions, from them as people had already started to talk.
“Mr. Diego Rodriquez CEO to Alpha’s Tech Limited Corps.” Randy said as Ruby choked on her drink. Not again. That Bloody CEO, she hates with passion.
A MONTH EARLIER
“Like I said, miss Randy Santiago, you are the love of my life, the apple of my eyes, I can’t see anything else when I am with you.” The deep husky voice said kneeling down on one knee, holding a bunch of lily.
“Oh Romeo, you always say the sweetest thing, I am in love with you too. I don’t see anyone else but you.” A girl with brown curly hair in a flowery dress said, wistfully. “And now, my love, permit me the access, of kissing your lovely lips.” He said standing up, pulling her towards him.
“Yes, mi Amor, permission granted.” She said as he leaned in for a kiss. Their lips have almost touched when the alarm went off, prompting her back into reality and away from dream land.
“No.” She screamed as she sat up.
“Why?” She cried as she pushed the annoying alarm clock off the table to the floor, where it laid still blaring out that annoying sound.
Her cat R jumped onto her bed as she carried it. It meowed at her and Randy nodded her head saying.
“Yes R. After three weeks, we almost got the chance to kiss, but it still didn’t happen. Oh, my Romeo. What will I do to ever catch a glimpse of you. Please God give me a chance. I have been begging you for over a year now. Just one meeting with my darling Romeo. That is all I ask, is it too much. You already took my parent, education, life, everything.” She screamed out loud.
“You know what, she said panting, I am going to have a bath, wear my poor clothes and head out to the restaurant like I do every day, since you have decided to ignore my pleas.” She said standing up to get her bath ready.
