“One more time! Just push one more time!”

A blood-curdling scream echoed through the forest as the crows cawed in fear of what was to come. A familiar constellation was seen through the pitch-black sky. It showed a W for all to see.

"Is she going to be alright? Is my wife going to be alright, Marybeth?"

Mr. Marshall, the father, asked as his wife held his hand removing all circulation from it. But he did not care. This was important.

Another scream from the aching mother, trying her best to not falter as she pushed her little bum out of her womb.

"Get it out already, this child will be the death of me!"

Marybeth looked at her two sisters and tilted her head. "Do you think it will be another boy or a girl?" Delilah, the middle child smiled, "I hope it's another girl!" Roxanne, the youngest frowned. "Is the mom going to be alright?"

"She will be just fine. Roxanne just watched the ritual. It is almost over."

This child could be the last granddaughter or grandson next to Roxanne and Morgan. The last woman to ever walk this Earth when her family left this world.

Morgan was the child’s cousin, who was born after his mother died. He had been taken care of by the Fray sisters – the child’s aunts – since he was a child. He was the last known male grandchild of the family. As Mrs. Fray yells out to the sky, the thunders were starting to roar and the winds were starting to get colder as time passed by.

“Get her out now, please! I can’t take it anymore!”

The two Fray sisters—Delilah and Marybeth—looked at each other before looking at their brother, who was looking back at them with his big pleading eyes as if asking them to do something to help his wife.

“Oh, for the love of Satan. This night will be a bit better if this witch already came out!”

Marybeth sighed with glory as she and Delilah held hands and asked the forest guardian to help the poor woman.

*In the darkness of this forest, we ask for your help.

Oh Merciful Guardian of this forest

We ask for your magical blessing!*

These words were repeated multiple times as the wind was starting to blow bigger and faster towards them.

Mrs. Fray puffed and panted as she pushed one more time to get the child out of her system.

Finally, as the spell stopped, Mrs. Fray inhaled deeply.

“Finally. She is out. Delilah, give me that blanket!”

Roxanne was the one who initiated the birth of Agatha, rising from her position as she held the child in her arms.

“It’s a girl. She looks beautiful, Anna.”

Mr. Marshall was happy that he got to see his child before they go to Europe for a mission given by the Ministry of their work.

The Ministry did not give him much information about the mission but Mr. Marshall would expect something bigger and riskier.

He took Agatha from Roxanne’s arm and held her close to his chest, whispering sweet nothings to her as he looked at his wife who was smiling at them tiredly.

“You did great, darling. Thank you.”

Her eyes were heavy but she still managed to glance at her daughter before she went to sleep.

Roxanne properly cleaned Anna and wrapped the child with a thin blue cloth. Mr. Marshall gave the child to Delilah as he carried his wife in his arms and they all walked out of the abandoned forest.

“We should head home now. Staying in this forest longer will give us a major fright.”

The three sisters nodded at their eldest brother as he lead the way out of the forest. Anna Fray was resting her head on her husband’s chest as she sighed that her daughter is finally born.

No more struggle and endless nightmares every time she closed her eyes. The nightmare of seeing their Pagan God while being pregnant was a bad sign.

Now that her daughter was born, she feared that their Pagan God will take a liking to her and would take her as his descendant. Far more than anything that would likely happen, this was far the worst of it all.

The Fray House was not that far from the forest. It was just beside the forest itself. Morgan was waiting for them on the front porch of their house while playing some video games on his phone.

“Damn, this zombie! Die, you useless piece of green moss!”

He stopped when he heard the silent footsteps from afar and he immediately rose from his seat and looked out far over their house and saw that his aunts and uncle were back.

“Aunties! Uncle! Welcome back!”

He smiled as he saw them walking towards the stairs of the Fray house and opened the door for them.

He looked at his Aunt Delilah and saw that she was holding a little bump in her arms.

“Is that her? Is that my cousin? Wow, it’s really a girl!”

Delilah looked at Morgan and smiled as she nodded at him and opened the cloth that was wrapping the child’s body.

Morgan gasped as he looked at the child closely and smiled.

“Hello there, my beautiful cousin. Welcome to the human world.”

Marybeth and Roxanne chuckled at Morgan’s antics towards his cousin. They’ve never seen the boy smile so brightly before. Ever since Morgan was born, the little boy never showed them any signs of happiness.

It was as if he already knew that his parents died in the hands of humankind. It was a piece of devastating news for them all, especially Morgan.

Thus, his smiles were limited.

“Do you think it is the child's arrival?”

Delilah looked at Roxanne with a smile on her face. Roxanne only chuckled when she saw their brother coming down the stairs.

“Where is she? Where is my daughter?”

Delilah pointed in his child’s direction and Mr. Marshall immediately went there. He looked at the child with a smile on his face.

“You look magnificent, my dear child. I hope to see your growth in the following years.”

Morgan, who had been wondering what the child’s name, asked his uncle about it. Mr. Marshall smiled at him and answered the boy’s question.

“Agatha. Her name is Agatha Fray.”
