Introduction
"Sir, everyone in California is talking about the annulled engagement of your nephew. Should the PR deal with it?" Tanner (waves his hand disinterestedly): Let it be. He's an adult already. He should be responsible for his decisions. "Your nephew's ex fiancee is being judged by the netizens. What is your stance on this?" The assistant adds? Tanner immediately perks up. "Lena?" "Yes. Miss Lena Carter." Tanner's gaze was cold and he grabs his coat. "Come. Let's roast some troublemakers." *** Lena had just finished her summer exams and was preparing for the college exams. Orchard Night Bar…

Lena's head felt heavy as she took another sip of the champagne in the glass. Her mind was blank like a sheet of paper and her eyes were dizzy too. From her point of view, everything in front of her swayed from time to time.

She picked the glass and took another sip of the wine even though a certain voice in her mind was telling her to stop drinking. All she kept remembering was those cruel and heartless words he had said to her. She felt a surge of anger in her every time she thought about his actions the other night.

No other emotions. Just anger.

"Damn you, Noel," she slurred as she scrambled out of the lounge seat and grabbed her purse from the table. She staggered a few times before her feet eventually reached the floor.

The bar was bustling with activity and there were a lot of customers. Music was playing through the stereo at a very loud volume at an end of the large hall where the DJ was doing his magic. A few people were on the stage, dancing and twisting their bodies to the rhythm of the song. Men and women flocked together, rocking their bodies against one another.

Except for that, there was hardly anything else noticeable. The bar was organized. A few people sat in the regular seats like Lena while the others booked private booths.

It was a VIP bar and only the wealthy and bigwigs could afford it. Most of the people who patronized there were outstanding people of high social class. They were the upper echelons of the city so they were more cautious of their actions.

Moreover, it was widely known that the owner of the bar was a highly temperamental person. He was very arrogant and nothing could faze him.

If you dared to cause trouble at his bar, he would order his guards to throw you out. But, no one could do anything to him because he was not an ordinary person either.

As Lena staggered towards the exit with her purse in hand, she passed by a booth. The door of the booth was open and a man was walking out from the room.

There was a phone beside his ear and he seemed to be talking to someone. He continued to walk ahead, probably looking for a quieter place to talk.

Although Lena was drunk, she still had a little bit of her rationality and she could still see clearly. She merely gave him a glance and turned to leave.

But, she hadn't walked more than three steps, when she heard the man say, "Sister in law, it's best you sit Noel down and make him understand the ways of the world. How can he be so childish and immature?"

Lena halted in her steps. She was instantly attracted by the man's words. Since the day before, she had been extremely sensitive to the name 'Noel.'

The man continued to rant, "Just because of a girl he met three months ago, he annulled his engagement. Even if he truly likes the other party, is he supposed to humiliate the other girl like this? Shouldn't he consult his elders first? All of us only learned about the matter this morning."

Lena's mind went blank. Noel? Annulled engagement?

Was he referring to her?

She turned swiftly towards the man's direction. She had no impression of what the person at the other end of the line said.

But, the man tightened his lips and he said, "It was wrong of him. How can he just end an engagement of five years without even giving the other party a prior notice? He even did it in public where others could see him break up with her. What was he trying to pull at? It's clear he was trying to humiliate her."

"Third brother…" the person on the line said. "You keep supporting the girl. Although Noel was wrong, he's still your nephew after all."

"Ha…"

The man laughed as he turned towards Hera's direction. His gaze was cold and devoid of emotion. In fact, it was a sarcastic laugh.

"It is precisely because he is my nephew that I'm concerned about this. If it weren't because of mother's insistence, I wouldn't bother to step into this matter."

His words were harsh and there was a deeper meaning to it. This made the other person soften their stance and said, "Then, I have to thank you, Third Brother."

"I have other things to do." He said as he disconnected the call.

It was then Lena saw his facial features.

He had an outstanding appearance and a figure that was apparent among a crowd. He was putting on a simple black shirt with a few center pleats on it. He was also putting on a pair of black suit pants, making his dignified aura dazzle even more.

He had a pair of onyx colored eyes that shone whenever the reflection of the disco light flashed by. His pupils were deep and heartfelt. It was as though when he looked at someone, he could see through them. Those eyes were extremely beautiful and attractive.

He was tall and had fairly broad muscles that stretched through the thin material shirt whenever he moved. He looked exquisite and noble to the bones. Every part of him screamed elegance. His mannerisms were refined and graceful.

One couldn't help but stare at him longer.

This was what Lena also did. She stared at him in a daze muttering indistinctly, "Such a beautiful man."

Perhaps her gaze was too evident, the man who was initially scrolling through the phone to make a call turned to look at her. His eyes were narrowed causing curves at the tip of his eyes.

He stared at her quietly without a word. He was luscious and beautiful. But, his eyes were so cold. His gaze was deep and sharp as they landed on her.

As their gazes met, Lena's breathing paused. She had only seen his side profile earlier. But as he stared at her now, she could see how fascinating his facial features were.

His gaze was only on her for a few seconds and he soon looked away indifferently. But, Lena's mind had gone wild.

She approached him. Her body was filled with vigor making her initially wobbly feet stand-up right. She moved closer to him and by the time he noticed her actions, she already closed in on him.

He seemed taken aback but it was only for a moment. His eyes regained their composure and he reached out to push her.

But, Lena was faster. She struck an elbow towards his chin, making him instinctively move back.

She grabbed his chin and looked at him carefully. Her gaze was sharp as she ran them over his features clearly. She seemed unabashed and her expression was serious as she studied him carefully.
