Janine gasped at the shout from outside her bedroom door. It was as if I had been torn apart by excessive force. So, she got up, exhausted from lying in her bed.
"Why mom? It's still early, but if you wake up, the person isn't tired of looking for a job!" she said to her mother while she was still yawning, walking towards the door where her mother was.
"My God Janine! What are you saying early on? The sun has been shining there for a while, but you're still enjoying yourself," said her mother when she opened the door.
"Mom! Is it my fault that your beautiful daughter is really tired of finding her new job?" she replied to her mother after she kissed her on the cheek.
"So, is it my fault that you resigned from your previous job?" The able mother justified it as they went down the stairs to get into the kitchen.
Janine resigned from her previous job because their manager did not treat employees like her equally. There is favoritism because of this crazy thing. She doesn't know, but when they give in to their manager, he only wants you and you.
She is not a lowly woman who will simply do what her manager wants, so she decided to resign sooner rather than later before reporting it to the highest, the CEO of the company.
"You know my reason, mom, why do I need to resign from that company?" she said to her mother as she set their table so that they could eat breakfast.
She is an only child and her father is nothing but a jerk because he belongs to another house, another family. So her mother did everything she could for her education, food, and the purchase of her luxury items. She is very proud too, because even though her mother is only a laundress, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting Management.
"Yes honey, I knew, but I really want to slap your horny manager for doing that!" She even laughed at what her mother said, because her mother was still frowning and making a face that was obviously disgusted.
"Let's not talk about that rude man who is even worse than the beast mom. Did you know he was ruining the day I wanted to be perfect? Maybe I'm still unlucky in finding a job again, "she frowned as she told her mother.
For Janine, there is no need to talk about unimportant people.
After all, they are not helping to enrich themselves and they are not very interested. So, she decided to just change the topic with her mother while they were eating breakfast because she was going to apply to the Montenegro Empire to become a Financial Assistant.
This is her last hour to have a job here in the Philippines again, but if she is not lucky, she will just take what her friend offered, to work abroad. Even though she didn't want to be separated from her beloved mother.
Janine just smiled and was sad while bathing in what her mother had taken from their neighbor's well just for her. She was lucky because even though her father left them because he had another family, her mother still did not give up trying to keep her alive.
Her mother said that she was still lucky even though her father just hooked her up because he still had to leave it to the most important thing in her life now and it was Janine.
"Hurry up there Janine! It's going to be eight o'clock, but you're still in the bathroom!" she heard her mother shout from the window of their house.
They had the bathroom in the back of their house that she had made for her last salary at her previous job. The wall used to be just a plank, but now it has improved.
"Yes, I'm coming out, mom, I'll just brush my teeth for a while!" she replied to her mother.
While she was brushing her teeth, she could not hold back her tears because every time she looked in the mirror she remembered her father, who had died when she was only two years old. They brush their teeth together while her mother smiles in the window. She doesn't know, but it seems like it's hard to forgive. She still can't forgive her father now.
"Okay! That's right Janine, don't cry for the man who left you. He's not worth it to cry about! "She comforted herself, and she muttered and washed her face because she might just be crazy thinking about the past.
"Miss, good morning," her friend from childhood greeted her, so she just nodded and went inside their house. She even heard him complain about it.
Good morning, huh? "That hurts from the heart, Janine! "
She just shook her head before she went to her mother's place to arrange her requirements for applying for a new job.
As she wiped her hair, she said to her mother, "I told you mom I could do it by myself."
"It's only here that I can help you Janine, then you still don't want to," her mother replied while frowning at her.
"It's not like that mom, the two of us. You have sacrificed a lot just for me since my childhood and until now. My only thing is, don't move too much because I'll do it for you now, "Janine reasoned here while looking into her mother's eye. So her mother sat down on their wooden chair and gave her the towel. "I know that Janine," said her mother, as she sat down on the chair and gave her the towel.
"All right mom, hehehe!" she replied, and she relaxed her head because it was still early, about 8:30. She was leaving their house because her interview was at 9:15.
As her mother wipes her hair, she can’t help but think about the past. Would they be happy now? Would she be hurt like this if he told them the truth? And if her mother hadn't found out about it, he would have continued to fool them.
Mom, what will happen to us if you haven't proven that the gossip about that man being married is true? Maybe he's still in his stupidity and fooling us? "she said suddenly to her mother, who smiled at her, but you can still see the pain and hatred in her eyes.
"Don't even think about it, Janine. We've moved on in the past, so let's not bring back the memories that hurt us. They say the wound that your dearest has caused can also be healed, "her mother replied to her. She just nodded.
She just let her mother comb her wavy, waist-length hair. Moreover, her eyes were silent and closed as she felt her mother's caress. She loves the feeling every time her mother does it. Even though she's 23 years old, she still misses it. What if she is not accepted after her interview and she just goes abroad? She will make big adjustments in case this happens.
