Introduction
The moment Wen Yi opened her eyes, she found that she had been transmigrated into an ancient run-down home that was icy cold. Even worse, she became pregnant! Additionally, she was unsure of the father of the child. Her stepmother even wanted to sell her for money, but Wen Yi did everything she could to avoid the stepmother's clutches. Fortunately, she had superb cooking skills as a result of time travel, so she was able to support her family by selling the dishes she cooked. At this point, a peerless man appeared out of nowhere and refused to leave Wen Yi alone. "Sir, I'm grateful that you saved us from difficulty, but I have nothing to repay you, and I've already..." "Don't be silly, I'm your husband, and you have my child." What? This charming hubby came far too easily!

"Summer has just passed. What's with this cold wind?"

Because it was too chilly, Wen Yi had to force her eyes open, but she became dumbstruck when seeing what was in front of her. It was a shabby wooden house before her. To be exact, a more apt description would be woodshed. That's where the cold draught was coming from.

However, that wasn't the main issue. The excruciating pain roaring through her head was more pressing. Her head felt like it was being forcibly split apart, the pain making it hard for her to breathe.

"Big Sister? Chunni... Are you awake?" A girl with sallow skin shook Wen Yi with her cold bony hands. Her hair tumbled down her chest and was tickling Wen Yi's face again and again.

"Don't call me Big Sister, for God's sake. I'm only 25 years old, so calling me 'Miss' would have been nicer. Wait, who's Chunni, anyway?" Wen Yi muttered and felt like her thoughts were not making any sense.

Wen Yi squinted at the girl. "Hey, pretty girl, did I mistakenly barge into your shooting site?" Seeing that she was dressed like a mistreated girl in a historical drama, Wen Yi endured the pain and sat up, scanning her surroundings.

Wen Yi's words sent shock into the young girl. She murmured, "You have been beaten silly... What should we do in the future?"

Pfft!

That girl was a born actress!

"Chunni, you're freaking me out..." Wen Yi realized with a start that there was someone else there. An eight-year-old boy tugged at Wen Yi's sleeve timidly, trying to hold back his tears.

Wen Yi was sucked into his pure eyes in an instant, and a plethora of scenes flashed through her mind. They were all about the little boy, and... her?

Those strange scenes were clearly replaying in her mind like those memories belonged to her... She even saw herself kneeling in the blizzard and kowtowing to a gorgeous house not far away.

It was like watching a movie she starred in... The next thing she knew, the camera zoomed in, putting her in this place.

Wen Yi lowered her head to look at her belly in astonishment. Gone were her abs, replaced by an unnoticeable swollen belly. Memory fragments flashed across her mind.

She... She was a pregnant woman!

What had she gotten herself into?!

She clearly remembered that she'd gone to a food museum with her master, but when she touched a kitchen knife that was displayed in the museum, she suddenly felt her scalp go numb. Then her limbs felt like being pulled apart... One thing had led to another, and she was sucked into what looked like a two-dimensional space by some unknown force...

When she woke up again, she was already here.

Was this the legendary transmigration?

A series of thoughts rattled in her mind: "Screw this sh*t. How could I believe this kind of hocus-pocus when I'm from the 21st century?"

"Well, even if I can have a time travel, does the two-dimensional space enable a woman to get pregnant suddenly?"

"Chunni!" The little boy called her again. His pitiful look reminded her of the autistic little brother staying at Master's place.

All her resistance faded away after being stared at by the cute little boy.

In her entire life, no one had ever relied on her like this other than the aforementioned little brother.

Wen Yi gently closed her eyes, and memories of the original owner's life flashed through her mind again. Speaking of which, the original owner was quite pitiful. Her mother had given birth to a total of three kids. The original owner was called Yang Chunni, her younger sister was called Yang Xiahe, and her younger brother was called Yang Dongzi. Their mother had died upon giving birth to Dongzi. Later, their father, Yang Yousheng, married their stepmother, which turned the three kids' life into living hell.

Three months ago, for just five taels of silver, her stepmother married her to the retarded son of the landlord in the town as a concubine.

Chunni had refused to bow down to fate. She'd fled with her younger brother and sister but was caught by her stepmother on the cliff at the entrance of the village. In the midst of the scuffle, she was pushed off the cliff. Then...

What happened next? Wen Yi drew a blank...

When more scenes popped up, it was already the day before when she knelt in the blizzard. Although being pregnant, she was beaten by her stepmother, causing her to faint.

But she missed the most important part!

"Run away, Chunni. They said that if you don't get rid of the baby in your belly, they will drown you in a pond. You need to run!" Dongzi took Wen Yi by the hand and urged her to run away.

Xiahe had obviously been traumatized by watching her being beaten. She said, trembling, "You won't be able to run far... Chunni. Why don't you just get rid of the baby and marry that fool? At least you won't have to worry about food."

"Xiahe, she can't marry that fool!" Dongzi grouched.

Glumly, Xiahe tugged on her ragged clothes, lowered her head, and muttered, "I just think that staying alive is more important than anything else."

Wen Yi couldn't agree more.

Nothing was more important than staying alive!

"Dongzi, don't cry. I won't die!" Wen Yi raised her head and looked at the door of the woodshed, but her eyes were fixed on the table not far away.

Because the kitchen knife she had seen in the museum was now on the chopping board!

Knowing that her coming to this strange world must have something to do with that kitchen knife, Wen Yi feigned calmness as she walked over. She picked up the knife and weighed it in her hand. Then she hid the knife in a pit and kicked some dead leaves over it to cover it up.

As if on cue, the door of the woodshed was pushed open from the outside.
