The screaming was so loud and later I was unable to see what was going on. I was losing my breath. The only voice I could hear at that instant was that of my mum screaming my name and all of a sudden everything went blank.
At a distance there were loud sirens of ambulances everywhere, paramedics lifting injured persons into their vehicle rushing them to the hospital for emergencies.

Nurses were running from one hallway to the other helping people brought by ambulance into the emergency ward where the doctors took over, people were trooping in and out of the hospital.
Scalpel please.
He made a vertical section on the stomach of the body laying on the theater bed, pulled out the pieces of glasses that pierced the stomach, on pulling it out blood gushed out of the stomach two of the nurses were on standby cleaning the spot surrounding the stomach where the blood gushed out, somewhere infusing pints of blood and drip on the body.
Needle please.
One of the nurses handed him the needle, and he began stitching the stomach back.
Scissors,He stretched his hand and took scissors and made a cut.
Ding! Ding! Ding! the monitor beeps.
Doctor, he's having a cardiac arrest,One of the nurses said as he watched the number on the monitor go low.
Suddenly, whirling activity enlivened the operating room.
Defibrillator please,
Charge! Clear! Shock! The nurse placed it on the chest of the patient.
It continued for some minutes, and the beep sound from the monitor went higher and higher until it stopped. Ding!
The doctor checked his wall clock.
Time of death, 7:30pm,He said and covered the body, and signed it to be taken to the morgue. He took off his hand gloves and went out of the theater, outside the hall he couldnt stand the sight of seeing so many wounded, the patient that died was the seventh for today he went into his office and sobbed for a while, wiped his tears, he came out again to attend to more victims.
Coming out of his office back to the hall he saw a child being rolled into the hospital from the front door. She had so many bruises and was lying unconscious on the bed with pints of blood and drip infused into her body.
Prepare her for surgery immediately. He said anxiously.
The paramedics rolled her into the theater room and he followed them behind getting his surgical gloves on.
He resurfaced after what seemed like an hour; sweating profusely.
The next morning people were trooping into the hospital to check on their loved ones, nurses were checking on the patients theyve operated on to know how they were doing that morning, families were taken to the morgue to identify bodies.
In one of the wards was a seven years old child who was still lying unconscious on the bed and there was a nurse beside her bed injecting drugs into the drip that connects to her body.
Nurse Ann, has no one called in or come for the little child, the doctor asked as he walked into the room.
No doctor, no relatives yet, no one has called in for her.
And she has not opened her eyes yet?He walks closer to the girl laying on the bed.
He examined and checked her pulse, took the file the nurse was holding and scribbled down something.
Call me when she wakes up,and handed the file back to the nurse.
Where am I? The girl said with a faint voice.
She tried opening her eyes, but all she saw was a blur ceiling, she was unable to figure out where she was.
She tries to move her body to get up, but is unable to do so.
Hold on dear! The nurse rushed to grab her.
You cant get up, please stay calm, you will be fine.
Mum!She cries out trying to force herself up.
The nurse tried to calm her down, but she struggled with her in order to get up from the bed.
The struggling became persistent that the nurse had to pin her down on the bed and called for another nurse who ran in and injected her immediately.
The injection was to make her relax and fall asleep, she slept for what seemed like an hour and woke up again but this time she was calmer than before.
Raising her gaze she saw a man staring down at her and trying to ask her questions, which her brain was unable to process at the moment.
The doctor told the nurse to keep an eye on her, that the drugs she was injected with hadn't worn off.
The doctor came back after a few minutes.
Hello! Whats your name?He asked politely.
Mum! Mum! Mum!She whipped.
Hey, calm down, we will do everything we can to get you to your parents. All you have to do is tell me your name, your address or any contact you know, youre one of the survivors of the plane crash. He said and waited with a pen and book to jolt down whatever information he could get from her.
My name is,She stuttered, raising her eye up to the left to try to recall but was unable to remember her name or who she was or what happened.
The only thing that came to her mind was her screaming mum, and thats all she could remember.
Am having a headache, she said, holding her head with her hands.
Tears rolled down her cheeks, as she tried to remember what happened.
Hey, dont force it, this can be due to the shock, you have to remain calm, with time you will be okay, but for now you do need rest, '' he pats her hand.
Nurse, can you please get her something to eat from the cafeteria.
Okay doctor,as she left the room.
