Tori's POV

"Listen Tori, I've got a really bad feeling about this" Natasha intoned softly, trying to make me see reasons not to do this.

I've already made up my mind, I already plan to do this, and nothing could ever change my mind.

My grip on the wheel tightened as I spared Natasha one quick glare. "You're never optimistic, are you?" I hissed out.

Now, she's making me regret ever telling her of my plan to bring James back to life.

What does she know anyway? After all, she's never been in love and neither has she ever lost someone she loves.

"Listen, Tori,"

"Please, Tasha.." I cut her off. "I'm going to do this, and I'm not going to stop even if you persuade me till morning" I deadpanned

Oh. What does Natasha know? Isn't she supposed to be siding with me? Glaringly, she knows that I'm basically an orphan. My parents died just when I was sixteen, and the only person that completes my heart, the one that's like a family to me now, is stoned dead behind the seat.

Drawing in a sharp breath, I took a quick glance to the figure wrapped loosely in a neat blue cloth behind me, and I blinked back my tears.

If I knew, if I knew that there's a way to bring back the dead to life, I would never have let my parents go. No! I will never have said that silly goodbye to them!

"Have you ever heard of a dead being returned to life?" Now Tasha sounded frustrated. I can feel her gaze trying to dig a hole into my head.

That's it! I regret telling her about this!

"You know this is not possible!"

"Please, Tasha" I sighed, a quick glance at her before I face my front again. "The man showed me the people he has returned back to life"

"How sure are you that this man in question is not some psychopath!" She flared up

"I've told you countless times, Tasha, I'm not giving up. And then... "

"Does he even want that?" Natasha suddenly whispered, cutting me from completing my sentence. Her voice cracked like someone who's trying to stop herself from crying

"Tasha.." I called.

Natasha sniffed slowly, making me turn to her, and true, she's gotten tears rolling down her face like a wheel.

I quickly dive to a side and stepped on the brake to stop the car before I faced her

Grabbing hold of her hand, I licked on my lower lip before I mumbled. "You know me, Tasha. I have no one except James."

"What about me?" She croaked, staring at me with her misty orbs. "You have me, Tori. Why are you making this so difficult for yourself"

I sighed. Truth to her word, Tasha and James have been a great helping pole in my life, they're there for me when my parents passed away. Perhaps, it's safe to say that they're my everything and the reason I can still breath till this moment, but then

"James is my boyfriend," I sniffed, my eyes tearing up as I looked behind me to see my boyfriend lying lifelessly on the backseat

On a norms, James should have been the one sitting on the driver's seat, me beside him while Tasha sat behind us. Our loud chatter that rented the air and filled the car, our laughter, and smiles.

Sharing our achievements together and mourning together on our loss, but now, when one of us is gone. I'd rather not imagine a life without James

Tasha sniffed, she removed her hand from my hold and wiped her tears away. "James was my friend too," she muttered, "and I'm sad over his demise"

I shook my head, my tears using the chance to fall down. "He's not dead," I sniffed, "James is coming back to me."

I did not take the risk of stealing James' body at the mortuary just to change my mind now. No, I must return James back to life, James has to come back to me.

"Tori..." Natasha sighed, she held my face and made me look into his green eyes. "I'm as hurt as you're, Tori. But listen to yourself, have you ever heard of the dead coming back to life?"

No. I have not. But there's always a first time, and besides, the man who promised to help me already sent me the picture of the people he brought back to life.

What more of an assurance do I need? What else do I need to know in order to believe that something can actually be done to bring our dead back to life?

I sighed, removing Tasha's hand on my cheek. "Let me do this, please. Tasha" I mumbled

Tasha sighed, a hand running through her hair. Subconsciously, she wiped the little glint of tears away from her eyes. "How so sure are you," she breathed out, "that James want this"

I find the question ridiculous. I mean, who wants to die? Or let's say who actually wanted to die this early? For goodness sake, James is only 18years old. And what about me? I'm very sure that James won't want to leave me behind.

"He will be happy," I chuckled lightly, resting my back on the backrest, "he never wanted to die in the first place anyway. And please, Tasha, can we just stop talking about this?"

Tasha stared at me, her eyes lingering for a fraction of seconds before she averted her eyes. With a sigh, she mumbled. "What else do I need to say?"

"Nothing," I shrugged. I looked behind me again, and a small smile tugged the corner of my lips. I'm almost there, and I'll surely bring James back to life

Igniting the car, I grabbed the steering wheel with more enthusiasm, and energy. The thought of bringing my dead boyfriend back to life makes my heart thump.

And perhaps, if there's a way of bringing back the dead who've been long dead, then I'd bring back my parents.

Natasha did not say anything throughout the drive and I am grateful.

After a while, I parked before a large house that has the description on it ' the white House '

If I'm right, this is the right house. I brought out my phone and put a call across the man who's promised to help me, and after the second ringing, a deep throated voice spoke up

"I've seen you" he intoned shortly and without letting me say anything, he dropped the call

I huffed. Such audacity. Was I not the one who called him?

Sighing, I dropped my phone and I was about to open the car door when I felt a hold on my hand.

"Tori, have you given this a lot of thought?" Tasha mumbled, her eyes laced with unshed tears as though she's trying to do me in with her tears

Well... It's never gonna work!

I slowly pushed her hand away, sparing her a short glare, I hissed. "I have, and I am doing this!"
