Elsie POV
I looked at my reflection in the mirror. The silk Cady fabric clutched my figure perfectly while the 3D beaded floral that sewed on the top of the white gown made it a bit revealing, giving the effect of see-through on my skin. I turned to look over my shoulder and the long-tailed of the gown that sprawled on the ground made a smile crept on my face. I felt like a princess that lived in a fairy tale today.
The make-up team left me alone in the room, giving me some personal space after they had done their important job on my appearance. I bet everyone was busy with their last touch on the wedding preparation while I sat in the room with my thumping heart. I missed my dad at times like this and the sad thing is that I don't even know who will walk me down the aisle. Probably, Alex or one of Dexter's men since no one from my family nor friends will come, not even Lucas.
I was snapped back to reality and I quickly brushed my sadness away at the moment I heard someone knocking on the door. Without knowing who the person is, nevertheless, I guaranteed the permission to enter.
"You can come in," I said with my voice raised a bit, make sure to be heard.
The person in front of me made my checks immediately shade in pink. Sometimes, I hate the effect that he had on me, but he seems to enjoy it.
"Dexter, why are you here?" My heart was thumping crazily, but I still managed to ask him the question, without stammering which made me grateful a lot.
He doesn't say anything but the look in his eyes was enough to send the message. He stared at me with an intense look as if he hasn't met me for decades.
"You're incredibly stunning, love." He finally spoke when he reached in front of me. The heel on my legs made me taller than normal days, which I don't really need to lift my head to look at his face.
"You're incredibly sexy, boyfriend." I purposely pressed on the last word which made him chuckle at it. "We are not allowed to meet each other as per old tradition, remember?" I reminded him playfully, my hands rested on his chest that covered by the black tux.
"Screw the tradition, I don't even care about people who attend the wedding. I'm having the urge to skip all the procedures and go straight with the first-night thingy." I almost choked hearing his bold statement. I'm sure my face was in crimson red now.
"For God's sake, Dexter, that's not something that you can say out loud like this." I break the eye contact and turn around, but Dexter being Dexter won't allow that to happen, as always. His strong arms engulfing my waist and I couldn't do anything as the gown just made it impossible for me to move freely.
"I see my wife turn to be a shy little girl." I saw a smirk at the edge of his lips, enjoying the state that I was in now.
"Correction, I'm not your wife yet and I'm not a little girl." I retorted with my hands that were rested on his hips.
"Few more minutes, be ready for that." I couldn't help but smile at the fact.
"Why is that face now?" He inquired, noticing the sudden change of my expression.
"Who will walk me down the aisle? I don't have anyone." I mumbled in a low tone, but make sure he can still catch the words.
"Don't worry about that, love. You will see it later." He pecked my lips, reassuring me.
"Boss, everything is ready now. They are waiting for you."
A voice outside the room interrupted our conversation and we both turned around and looked at the door even though we can't see the person behind. He gave me a look and caressed my cheek before strode to the door. I stared at his masculine back till it disappeared from my sight.
Dexter POV
"What took her so long?" I mumbled silently while I can't tear my eyes off the aisle, waiting for my love to appear. The sweat started to foam on my forehead, and I don't really know if I was sweating due to the heat or my nervousness.
Just at the time I almost lost my patience, I saw the love of my life stepping out from a spot that was a bit covered and the claps from the crowd confirmed it. I inhaled a deep breath, feeling relief in an instant.
I noticed that she was a bit shock when she noticed the guy that stood there waiting for her, the one that will walk her down the aisle, her best friend, Lucas. That was something that she didn't expect as we came out with the plan with Lucas can't attend the wedding due to some work issue.
My eyes fixed on her all the time from the moment I spotted her. I'm thrilled to see the big smile on her face till she finally reached in front of me, in a close distance. Lucas handed her hand to me while I accepted it gracefully.
"I swear if you didn't come out of the room a few minutes earlier, I'm going to break the room and kidnap you to our bedroom," I whispered to her which caused her face to blush. She couldn't say anything since all eyes were on us.
Soon, the ceremony started with an opening speech, vows with rings exchange, and kisses which granted us an official relationship as husband and wife. The crowd showered us with congratulations and good wishes.
Elsie POV
"Can I abduct you away from the crowd?" He whispered to me, but his eyes maintained on the crowd.
"Not going to happen, Dexter Anderson."
"This is too much; I just want to spend time alone with you on our wedding day. Just forget about all the ceremony and having our special time alone, it sounds tempting, right?" This time he turned around and face me with a smirk on his face.
"Yes, I agreed it sounds tempting," I moved closer to him, "But it's too early for whatever naughty things inside your mind." I took a step back, studying his reaction.
"Look at you, challenging your husband." He pulled me closer to him by placing his hand around my waist. "Until when we will stay here and let them take away our valuable time?"
"Just bear with it for another few hours, Dexter. We would appreciate their effort to attend our wedding. Put that damn smile on your face, please." I pinched his face and placed a quick kiss on his lips to persuade him. Dealing with him wasn't easy but there is always a trick to make him agree.
He blew out a deep sigh, "Just because of you," he agreed forcefully.
"Dad! Mom!" We were both turned to look at the cute voice that we cherish the most. She ran towards us and jumped into Dexter's arm.
"Hello, princess. Look, how beautiful you are," I kissed her cheek.
"Thank you, mom. You look prettier than me." As always, the sweet talker's Andrea never failed to impress people. She touched my face with his little fingers, a big smile spread on her face showing her happiness.
"How about me?" Dexter interrupted our interaction, seeking her attention.
"Hmm," she pretended to be in deep thought while eyeing Dexter's outfit before she continues, "You look so-so, daddy."
"Just so-so?" He tickles her and caused her to giggle in his embrace.
"Okay, okay, you look handsome daddy, like a prince."
"Now, that's better." He winked.
"Well, daddy, are you happy now that you finally got a wife?" I was shocked by her question. She always came out with something unexpectedly. I suppressed my laughter trying not to laugh at her question.
"Of course, I'm happy, why you ask that?"
"You keep complaining to me that mommy rejected your proposal. I almost give up on you, daddy, but I'm glad that you finally made it." She patted Dexter's chest as a sign of proudness. I can't help but laughed at their interaction, especially Dexter's speechless state.
"I'm glad too, she finally accepts me as her husband." He whispered the last part and started playfully at me.
"I'm glad too. Now, we are a complete family." She clapped her little hands out of happiness. She then pulled both of us into a hug, which we named a family hug.
"Mommy, soon you will give me a brother or sister, right?"
Her question made me speechless, it was too sudden. I don't know how to answer her either, giving a promise for this will be a burden. I turned to look at Dexter, silently asking for help which he understands the sign.
"Soon, princess, soon." I saw a smirk on his face. It seems like he enjoyed the moment teasing me.
For the rest of a few hours, we were busy attending to the guests. I was glad that Dexter didn't whim after our small talk. Sometimes, it was easy to knock some sense into his head.
