Chapter 1
The sound of glass shattering filled up the entire room, followed by a loud growl.
“Lucas,’ a gruff voice called.
Another growl fills the room again.
“What the f*ck have you all been doing?” Lucas growled. “Answer me, Carlos.”
“How is it you are all incapable of catching a rogue that has been disrupting our peace for some months now?’ he snapped again.
’We are deeply sorry alpha, we tried all our best, but it is just that she keeps changing scents every time she is almost at our grasp,’ a gruff voice pleaded.
“SHE?” he growled. ‘The rogue is a female?’ his voice shook the depth of the office.
“Yes alpha,’ Carlos replied.
’And you are telling me you have been chasing a female rogue for months now, and you could not catch her?’ he snapped.
“Yes alpha,” Carlos tilts his head down.
With a swift movement, he grabs Carlos by the throat and has him pinned to the wall behind him.
“Listen to me carefully,’ he yelled, his breath coming out quicker than normal.
“You have just two weeks to find that rogue and bring her to me, or I’ll have your head instead,’ he growled.
“Yes alpha,” Carlos replied in a mangled voice.
Lucas glared at him for a few more minutes before letting go of his neck.
“Get out of my sight,” he snapped.
The men rushed out of the office all at once. They made it out just in time to hear another glass shattered.
Lucas stared at the mess on the ground with a deadly look. The need to vent out his anger rose in him.
He made a quick call to Thanos, his head warrior, asking him to assemble all the men for an emergency training, after which he storms out of his office.
**********
“Where are you all going?” Athena asked when she saw the men scrambling out of the room in a hurry.
“The alpha called for an emergency training,” one man answered.
“Why would he do that at this time of the day? Did he tell you why he called for the training?” She questioned.
“He didn’t. I can only guess he is angry again,” the man told her.
Before she could say something else, he cut her off politely.
“I would like to take my leave before alpha gets angry for coming late,’ he bowed.
“You are right Ramos, I don’t want my son to cut off anyone’s head today,’ Athena wave dismissively.
Ramos bowed again before running off toward the direction of the field.
Lucas was already there, looking angry as ever.
“You are late, Ramos,” he snarled.
“I was-,”
’You have no excuse,” Lucas cut him off. “I gave you just five minutes to be here, and you disobeyed me.”
Ramos kept shut.
“For that, you would be punished,’ he declared.
Ramos hold his breath awaiting his punishment. This wasn’t new to him.
Everyone in the pack knows Lucas doesn’t give a second chance. He punishes immediately you commit an offense. With Lucas, there is nothing like explaining yourself. You make a mistake and you get punished.
‘‘The wall of the dungeon needs to be taken down. Your punishment will be to break it down with no help,’’ he declared.
‘‘Yes alpha,’’ Ramos whispered. He walked sluggishly off the field.
‘‘Get back to your position if you don't want to end up with him,’’ he yelled at the rest of the men, and they turn back to the business at hand.
Lucas stepped into the circle across the field. He took off his shirt and threw it aside. His tattooed chest display was the hottest thing anyone would ever see. It glistened in the sunlight, giving him a dangerous look.
“I want five volunteers. Your goal is to get me out of this circle and get my back to touch the ground,’ he surveyed their reaction.
To someone else, Lucas’s instruction would seem simple for five powerful men, but everyone knows that isn’t true.
Five men stepped forward. They each took off their shirt and stepped into the circle with him. They adjusted their stance until they were poised, ready to attack.
Lucas wasn’t even fazed; he didn’t make the move to change his stance.
One by one, the men attacked. He fought them off so easily. They rushed at him all at once, each man grabbing hold of him in the distinct part of his body. They tried to push him out of the circle but couldn’t succeed.
That was one of his strengths. He is believed to have the strength of thousands of men. He is undefeatable.
From the day he was born, he had been this way. He handles things too roughly. Even as a child, he fights like a man. It was why his father had made him train amid older warriors at 3.
He grabbed one man, and with a swift movement, he flips him away. He crashed into his fellow men, and they all fell out of the circle, with only Lucas still standing.
“Is this how weak you all have become?’ he spat.
The men scrambled off the ground, and they fall on the knee in front of him with their head bowed.
“Now you are too dumb to speak, right?” he yelled, his voice going up an octave.
They shook their head, but still refuse to utter a word.
Lucas’s growl fills the entire field.
“Get out of my face,’ he snarled at them.
They scurried away from him and moved to a side.
“Another round,” he said.
Five more men came forward. They took off their shirt and, just like the first set; they failed to get him out of the circle. This continued until there were no men left to fight him. He had defeated them all.
“Thanos,” he yelled.
“Alpha,” Thanos stepped forward with his shoulder slumped.
“Is this what you have been teaching the men in my absence?” he gave him a deadly.
“I’m sorry,’ Thanos whispered.
Lucas’s claw elongated. He raised it up and Thanos closed his eyes, awaiting his demise.
“Stop!’ a voice yelled.
