The day after Lydia broke up with Elmer, she received an engagement invite from him and the heiress of the Orville Family.

On the engagement day, Lydia drank heavily. When she opened her eyes the following day, there was a man sitting next to her.

Although the room was dimly lit, Lydia could vaguely see his handsome brows and eyes. The man, like a satiated beast, was lazily staring at her, exuding an air of a seasoned dominator.

Lydia's arms were full of bruises, and her body felt as if it were falling apart – it was quite clear what had happened the night before.

She picked up her crumpled clothes and put them on, while the man quietly smoked.

Just as Lydia, prepared to dash for the door, the man stubbed his cigarette on the bedside table and said in a deep voice, "Stop."

His voice was deep and magnetic, as if hammering a nail under Lydia's feet.

"Take this." The man handed Lydia a piece of paper.

She took it and ran out of the hotel swiftly, upon opening, it was a check for twenty thousand.

A lump formed in Lydia's throat, her eyes blinked softly. She had sold her virginity for a mere twenty thousand.

Just then, the sound of footsteps was heard behind her.

"Elmer, I want to have breakfast at 'Rong's' later on, they have the best taste," a coquettish female voice said, full of evident happiness.

"Sure," the man responded with a light chuckle, a familiar doting tone that could easily make one capitulate, "I guess I didn't get enough of you last night, babe!"

A wave of rigidity washed over Lydia.

She knew that Elmer was not a man to love for long, but she didn't know he could be such experienced and unscrupulous in front of other women.

Lydia first met Elmer in her coffee shop. Elmer was quite the charmer, his ways of wooing girls infinite. Even she couldn't resist, but when Lydia genuinely fell for Elmer, the man left without hesitation. Their relationship only lasted three months.

Lydia remembered the words Elmer said to her when they broke up. He said, "Do you know you're incredibly boring? You're just like a blockhead."

So, he liked that kind of girl, Lydia suddenly realized. After all, even the number of kisses they shared while they were together was few and far between.

"Lydia?" Elmer was very surprised.

Lydia was taken aback, took a deep breath and turned around, "What a coincidence."

Elmer's exquisite eyebrows looked more captivating in the morning light. His expression was guarded, "What are you doing here?"

It seemed like he was suspicious of her intent. Lydia replied, "I stayed here last night. I'm just about to go home." She quickly calmed down.

Upon hearing her words, Elmer's expression became strange. He was about to say something but suddenly his eyes narrowed, filling with rage.

His gaze was too intense. Lydia followed his line of sight and noticed prominent marks on her own shoulders and arms...

Lydia tugged at her jacket, revealing a perfect smile, "Wish you and Miss Orville a happy relationship, I'll take my leave first."

"Hold on!" Elmer commanded coldly.

"Zhao, do you two know each other?" Lana asked with uncertainty.

"Yes." Elmer replied coldly while curling up the corner of his mouth, "She’s an old friend of mine. Lana, wait for me over there, I'll be right over." He then leaned down to kiss Lana, his eyes filled with a gentleness Lydia had never seen before.
