dCarlo is a tourist. He is from Manila and is currently on vacation. He was at a Paradise San Roman Resort.He wanted to take off the stress. He also had a difficult job as a Manager in a famous company in Manila.
The Resort is beautiful, it is one of the most popular attractions in the Philippines. He put his hat on his head and walked along the sea, away from the other tourists. He could feel the breeze on his skin, he was wearing a white shirt and floral walking shorts. He kept walking until he came to the very end of it. There was a fence and there was a hanging sign, with a danger zone written on it.
He entered the fence, he ignored the warning on the sign. He looked around, he saw a large rock, he decided to rest there on the large rock.
Carlo sat on the rock, from the backpack he was carrying he took his camera, it was a gift from his ex-girlfriend. With a smile on his face as he turned on the camera, he first took a shot of the peaceful ocean.
"Perfect," he said. When he took the shot again, the sea suddenly moved. His camera captured something strange.
A Big fish? he blinked his eyes. In the middle of the sea a large rock appeared, he saw a creature come up to it. A beautiful woman with a long fishtail. The scales glow when hit by sunlight.
"The story about mermaid is true," he said out loud. He saw the mermaid holding a fish in her bloody hand. The creature's face was very gentle. He was fascinated by her tail that shone like silver. The creature began to sing. The Mermaid smiled at him, waving her bloody hand. He seems to be invited. He smiled back at the beautiful creature. He went down to the sea while the mermaid swam to meet him.
At that point, Carlo imagined himself on a stage with the mermaid. They are applauded. It's raining money on them. Many celebrities in the movie industry will call him to interview the mermaid. He will be a millionaire!
He did not realize that the mermaid was already close to him. Suddenly the tail of the beautiful creature snapped.
Carlo touched his neck, he felt the pain in his throat caused by its sharp fins, everything was meaningless. He saw the red color in his hand, his own blood flowing abundantly from his neck.
JESSABELLE removed the face mask she was wearing. The air in their province is clean. Unlike in Manila, the air is polluted, due to the smoke from vehicles.
"Is that you, Jessabelle?" A woman greeted her.
Jessabelle thinks the woman is in her late forties.
The woman was wearing a floral duster, her white hair in a ponytail. She was small, maybe only four feet. Jessabelle shook her head, when the woman tried to take the backpack she was carrying. "Don't do it," she refused. "My bag is a bit heavy, I'll take it,"
"I don't know if you still remember me. But I'm Maria, I used to take care of you. You were young when you left here and lived in Manila."
The woman's face was familiar to Jessabelle. When she was young, she was an employee of Paradise Resort, but when Jessabelle was born, she became her nanny. Smiling she nodded her head. "Where is Tita Sabel?"
"Sabel is at the resort," woman replied. "She's just going to fix something at the resort, a lot has changed since your mother passed away." She glanced at her wristwatch, "It's twelve o'clock, you arrived just right, we're going to have lunch."
Jessabelle looked at the house in the distance. It was their family's ancestral house, three stories, made of stone. The house was old, it was still big in her memory. She was only seven years old when her mother died of breast cancer. After her mother was buried, her aunt took her to Manila so that they could live there.
Her aunt Belen, who took care of her, treated her like a real child. She was born without knowing her father. All she knew was that her father was different, she didn't ask her aunt Belen anymore, because she always answered, don't look for your father.
"Aling Maria, I'm not hungry yet. I'm just going for a walk,"
Maria stopped walking. "You want to go swimming?"
"No, I can't swim," Jessabelle turned her back on the woman before forcing her to enter the house first.
She was walking around. They had four acres of land in San, Roman. It includes a beach resort called Paradise Resort. Jessabelle continued until she saw the concrete fence at the border of the Resort. She read a sign that said a danger zone. She felt the serenity even the pleasant climate of the place. This is the Atmosphere she was looking for in Manila. She ignored the warning she read.
She was distracted by something in the sand. "A camera?"
