ARTEMIS'S pov :

When I woke up in the morning I found that everyone looked very happy. Unaware of the reason I went to the kitchen and started cooking. Everyday I have to cook a huge amount of food because the werewolves have a huge appetite. Me being the youngest child of the family was always loved by everyone but that love faded away three years ago , on my sixteenth birthday.

THREE YEARS AGO

" Happy Birthday Princess "

" Thanks Daddy "

I was very happy that day because it was my sixteenth birthday , the day when I will finally meet my wolf. I wonder what my wolf will look like. Will it be like my father's wolf or my mother's. Dad's wolf is dark shade of brown with touch of white and black while Mom's wolf is golden brown. I like Mom's wolf more because it's more pretty. My sister's wolf is same as father's wolf but a little smaller while brother's wolf is more on the darker side, it is black with a little brown patches.

The whole day passed away and I still didn't showed any signs of awakening.

" Mom why haven't I awakened yet ? "

" I don't know baby. Just wait a little longer , it will happen soon. "

Two days passed and nothing happened so Dad asked for pack elders to meet me.

" Elder what is wrong with me ? Why can't I talk to my wolf ? Why can't I feel my wolf ?"

" Because you have failed to awaken. "

After everyone left Mom and Dad went to their room and my siblings went out to party with their friends. And I was left alone. I went to my room and closed the door. That day I felt that something changed. I felt it.

AFTER A MONTH

" Artemis go and clean my room and don't touch my things kept on the table. "

" Ok "

I walked towards her room and started cleaning up. Grace usually never cleans her room and her room is the dirtiest one of all. I do feel that she started to make her room a lot dirtier than before because I'm the one who has to clean it up.

The floor was covered in clothes , bedsheet was lying near the bed . There was nail paint on all the floor and her makeup was scattered all over the bed. It took a long time to clean up the floor and then the room. It was always difficult to deal with Grace. She was a typical Queen B at school with her minions. She loved to bully others including me but I always fought back . Not to brag but I was physically strong even without my wolf.

After cleaning up I went to the other rooms and cleaned everything up.

" Artemis , take a break . You have been working for a long time. "

" I will after I'm done with my work. "

The only one who cares about me in this house is my brother. Although he never tries to protect me from father but he still gives me the medicines.

" Artemis go to your room and don't come out until I tell you to. "

" Ok "

When Mom asked me to hide I instantly knew what that meant. It meant that Dad is back and he is in a bad mood. I hid in my room all night and cried myself to sleep because I could hear Dad cursing me for being his biggest misfortune .

BACK TO PRESENT

After cooking and cleaning I came out of the kitchen and started cleaning up the living room.

" Artemis "

" yes Mom "

" Stop cleaning and go wear this. "

She handed me clothes and asked me to wear it. I dressed up and came down after wearing that black evening gown.

" It fits you perfectly so it won't be an issue. "

" What happened Mom? "

" Oh , Didn't you know ? "

" What? "

" Your brother became the beta of the pack so the new Alpha arranged for a party to celebrate. "

" That's great. Congratulations Mom "

" Thanks . Anyway you will have to go because everyone is invited including you and please don't embarrass us at the party later. "

" Okay Mom , I won't . "

" You better don't because if you mess this up then I won't be able to save you from your father."

" okay "

IN THE EVENING

I got dressed and went to the party. It was filled with people. Everyone was enjoying with their friends. Mom and Dad were with their friends , my siblings were with their friends and I was standing alone at a corner.

" Look guys , who do we have here? "

" It's Artemis "

" Isn't she just like a normal human ? "

" yes "

People were whispering about me everywhere. It feels strange but it doesn't bothers me at all because I'm used to it.

" Artemis is that you ? "

" Adrian "

" It's been so long. Where were you all this time? "

" That's something that I should be asking. You haven't returned for four years. "

" But I'm back now. And now I'm your Alpha. "

" So you defeated all your siblings. And I always thought that you were weakest of all. "

" Although I have became stronger but I'm sure that I still can't win against you. "

" Aiden I'm not strong as before. I don't have a wolf so obviously I can't win against you. "

" It doesn't matter . You are still my best friend so obviously you are stronger because I will protect you. "

Protect me, he said he will protect me which was unexpected after all even my parents never said that. I feel happy. My best friend is still the same as before. He treats me the same way that he always did.

" Then I will count on you. "

We talked for a few more minutes before he left to meet others.

Well I'm happy that at least one person is still the same as before. It's the happiest day in my life after everything that happened three years ago.

I was standing quietly when the door opened and two men entered. They were well built and were something that you will describe as perfect. Both of them had dark black hairs , one had bright red eyes while the other had deep green eyes. I couldn't break away from their gaze. There was something that forced me to look into their eyes and I felt something strange. I felt a pull towards them , an attraction that I never felt before.
