"What would you want to be?"

It was supposed to be a normal Saturday afternoon. Enjoying tea time with my mother and her friends.

That's what our normal Saturday looks like.

But that Saturday turned to be something I will never forget for the rest of my life.

"I want to be a lawyer someday."

I said with all honesty.

"You're so smart, darling." My Godmother smiled. 

"Always remember love, that even if your voice shakes, speak the truth. Even if you're quivering with terror, be brave."

Those were the last words my mother told me.

I never knew that a time like that will come.

If only I could go back, I would beg my mom to go.

"Eurydice, go to the bathroom inside the masters' bedroom. There are buttons there leading to the panic room! Hide in there. There are IDs, a passport, a gun, and a bag of cash you'll need. Go somewhere far. Always remember, your mom and I, we love you so much, darling.

That's not new to me. Both my mom and my dad are attorneys. There's a ton of secret doors inside our mansion. I went to that door. Growing up, I wasn't an obedient child. I would always stand for what I know is right. I can't simply obey orders without knowing why. But that time is different, my gut is saying that this time I should obey without any question asked. That order wasn't just a simple order from my dad. It sounds like a favor. The last favor he would ask.

That door was full of monitors of all the hidden cameras in the house. My parents knew that a time lime this would come. I waited and that was the last time I saw my dad.

That was the time I realized I was all alone. My mother who used to sing me to sleep was gone. My dad who used to hug me when I'm down was dead. They were murdered. I saw them. I saw them. I saw their faces. I saw the smile the killers made when they raped my mother. I saw how satisfied they are when they killed my dad. I saw them.

I saw them.

They started pouring gas outside our house. There's no one left inside and I was the only one inside that room watching them. My father was right, those people won't stop unless they destroyed the entire evidence and that there's not a single person is alive inside the mansion. They started looking for the control room and they immediately saw it. But that control room is just an accessory. They immediately destroyed the entire room without knowing that both my parents are smart enough to be prepared for this kind of situation.

My mom and dad are both lying on the cold floor. After a minute, those people started to disappear after they set the whole place a fire. I already called the Ambulance and the Fire Station. I immediately get the USB with a copy of all the things that happened. Funny how I think of preserving the evidence with this kind of situation.

I took the stairs and went to them when I already made sure that those monsters are gone.

This would be the last time I'll see them and it broke my heart to see them like this. I would love to stay and be there. But I know for sure both of them would be mad at me if I don't disappear. And those bastards would do anything to destroy my family name. Even killing me.

This can't possibly be the end. I refused to accept that this was the end of the story. Whatever it takes, I'll do everything I can to bring my family's name to justice.

I immediately packed some clothes and get the things my parents prepared. I immediately run when I heard the ambulance sirens. I went out and never look back.
