onely. Everytime he’s away, I feel like I’ll die of boredom. Thanks to him, he visits often.

“His mother told me not to runaway. She said that Van

“Hijo, please be gentle with her! She lost her goddamn memory and you’re acting like a mad man here,” the older woman said out of panic. She’s wearing a mixture of gold and white dress. Her diamond earrings, bracelets and necklace swayed as she walked towards me.

“Mama! This woman cheated on me! Now, she’s getting away with everything like nothing happened! And now, you’re expecting me to just chill?” he asked as if he couldn’t believe it.

It is true that I couldn’t remember anything and to know that I cheated on him shocked me to the core.

He walked slowly towards me; his eyes are still raging.

“Can’t you really remember me or you’re just doing this to get away with what you did with me?” His voice was hoarse but so potent. He pulled my hands with great strength and I felt a stinging sensation from it. When he noticed that I’m hurting, he immediately threw away my hands as if disgusted with me.

I suddenly felt a physical pain on my stomach and that’s when I noticed that my body is full of stitches and wounds.

“Stop scaring her, Bryce! Look at her, she’s wounded! Who would fake a car crash?”

“I’m not saying that she faked the accident! All I am saying is she might be faking her amnesia!” He walked away from me. He didn’t even bother himself to turn to me. “If you think I’ll dump you because you betrayed me, you are wrong. I will never let you be happy… I suffered so you deserve to suffer, too.”

Somehow, I understood his wrath…  I understood him even though I couldn’t remember anything… All I know is he’s my fiancé… And this person in front of me is his mother.

“Hija, I shouldn’t be really here. I should be mad at you for doing that… I still can’t believe… But I am here supporting both of you because I know that he’s madly in loved with you. He loved you more than you can imagine, I just can’t believe that you really cheated…” Her voice trembled as she speaks gently.

She’s full of sophistication and gentleness. Her body, even though, old, is still voluptuous as if she’s in her early thirties.

I have no idea what to say. I don’t know if I should feel empathy towards something I couldn’t even understand.

She looked at my confuse face as if she understood what I was thinking. She wiped away her tears and held the back of my palm.

“You are Flavia… Flavia Ream… You have no family, only us. You are twenty-five years old… A painter…” She kept on giving me details about myself.

I felt a throbbing pain on my head… All of these informations are overwhelming and I couldn’t store it in my head all at once. I tried to massage my temples to ease the pain and I felt relieved when a doctor, wearing a full white coat arrived. He told Bryce’s mother that I have to take it slow.

“She’s experiencing traumatic amnesia… Try not to stress yourself too much for it is really dangerous for you. If you try to remember it all at once, you might lose it forever.”

I was astounded by what the doctor said. I know I’ll lose a great part of me if I completely lose my memory!

“Doc, what about her wounds? Is there any internal hemorrhage or something? I’m really worried for her! All these stitches make me pass out!” she dramatically sighed while looking at the doctor.

“Don’t worry, we made a thorough examination on Miss Ream and found no bleeding. For now, all she has to do is try not to move too much because it can affect the healing of her wounds. Also, make sure that the environment is clean to avoid any infections.”

The doctor told us what not to do and left us alone.

“I don’t think that it is a good idea to tell the public that we have this kind of problem, Flavia. This will be a disgrace on our family. You should keep it a secret and act like both of you are still in good condition.”

“B-But… How will we pretend if he’s like that? I-I don’t think that it is a good idea-”

“No, Flavia. Trust me on this. And can you even imagine what will his friends, brothers and father will think of you? They will never look at you the same way… I… I know better… You know that Walters are very powerful, right?”

My brows furrowed. I don’t even know them.

Mrs. Walters left me that night. No one visited. No one cared. It is true that I don’t have a family to take care of me. If that’s the case, I really did see them as my own family. So why did I cheat?

I tried had to remember something but nothing seems to work. I punched my head but it just hurted more.

“Ah,” I grunted when it hurt so bad.

“Trying to remove your brain?” I felt like my heart went out of my ribcage as I was startled by a man’s voice behind me.

As I look into that man, he was smiling gently at me. Holding a bouquet of flowers and fruits, he handed me those with a smile on his face.

I was still in shock, in fact, I was holding my chest while he’s walking towards me.

“What’s wrong? Oh, I heard that you’ve lost your memory, poor woman.” He laughed a bit. “I think it is a blessing in disguise. You won’t have to remember your embarrassing night outs and passing outs.” He laughed louder.

Unlike Van Bryce, his aura wasn’t intimidating, not even a bit. He also looks charming. His sleeves were up until his elbow.

“Just got from a business trip on South east asia… The moment I found out that you met an accident, I cancelled all the remaining meetings. I’m sorry if I’m a bit late,” he said casually as if I know him.

In fairness, his aura is a lot more friendly.

“Oh, of course, you don’t know me! So dumb of me.” He then laughed again. “I’ll take care of you, don’t worry.”

He told me that his name was Atticus Evans and we’re high school best friend. I told him to stop giving me too much informations for it really hurts my brain.

For a week, I waited for Bryce to visit me but it never came. I’m think, I’m still oblivious of what’s really happening.

“Honestly, I can’t relate to his anger.”

“I fully understand that.” Atticus munched the apple that he has been holding for a while. After I met him, he started to visit me more often. He really did his promise to take care of me.

My wounds are still fresh and I don’t think that these will heal soon.

“You don’t even remember him, neither me… You probably can’t even remember yourself. But you know what? I think that you really need to leave him. Imagine what he can do to you. He can make you disappear in one snap. You know his power. He’s ruthless when it comes to business, what more to love? Love can make people mad… and sometimes, unreasonable.”

He kept me with his words of wisdom and I felt less lonely. Everytime he’s away, I feel like I’ll die of boredom. Thanks to him, he visits often.

“His mother told me not to runaway. She said that Van will always find a way to find me… and eventually, make me suffer. I also know that I’ll only hurt more if I try to escape… So why not ask for his forgiveness?”

“Are you sure that he’ll forgive you?”

“Not really… But why not give it a try?”

A sudden bang at the door interrupted us. Van Bryce with his “This is so unfair!” He almost punches the sturdy walls of our room because of extreme rage. I couldn’t understand what was happening. A man… in front of me is in full rage. His eyes, despite of looking like an eye of a devil, has still a hint of gentleness and softness. It reddened because of anger.

“Hijo, please be gentle with her! She lost her goddamn memory and you’re acting like a mad man here,” the older woman said out of panic. She’s wearing a mixture of gold and white dress. Her diamond earrings, bracelets and necklace swayed as she walked towards me.
