ANDRASTEIA's POV
Curious and Reckless. Those were the words that best describe me. I am Andrasteia the Lightbringer, that is the usual phrase that others call upon me. I really don't get why people call me Lightbringer where in fact I am the why chaos around the world exists. Sometimes I wonder what my life could be if I was born to a slave, or maybe just a normal girl who wouldn't have to follow such tight and boring rules around the Kingdom Border. I always wonder how people strived to live every day outside the border.
And since curiosity kills the cat. I always found a way to feed my little curiosity.
As the sun sets itself to the horizon the promenade courtyard under the window was highlighted by the moonlight along with the stars. Mary peeked through the window to see if anyone was around as she remained hidden within the darkness of the chamber. When Mary discovered the coast was clear, she chuckled to herself. She looked at me and nodded as she turned away from the window.
"You ready?" Mary excitedly asked me as she tries to lower her voice even if she is already whispering.
"Born ready, My dear Mary" I whispered back.
We'd been companions since I abducted the throne and appointed her as my personal handmaiden, and we'd been preparing this for weeks. Late-night sessions whispered conversations, and extra efforts to avoid being discovered had all led to this point.
I swung my bag's sling over my shoulder and gripped the satchel to my side. The components of the satchel were what would eventually lead to my liberation. Mary and I walked across to the other side of my chamber, where my bookshelves were positioned, discreetly.
She was intrigued by the volumes in front of her and asked, "Which one is it again?"
I sighed and tapped the third bookshelf with my index finger. We took a step forward and each grabbed one of the wooden case's sides. We both sank our boots into the concrete and yanked the bookcase away from the wall with all our strength. When the narrow crack between the bookshelf and the wall became visible, we traded smiles.
"I suppose this is plenty of space for the two of us, Mary," I said as the bookcase showed a narrow gap in the castle's stone wall, just spacious enough for a person to squeeze through. We are aware of the routes because Mary discovered the secret entrance when she was a child.
"First and foremost, ladies first," I grinned as I excitedly muttered and elicited a grin in response to her scowl.
"You're grandeur, how gracious of you." Mary lowered her hat and bowed.
"Our disguises are what are going to get us out of here," I growled, pulling the cap back down on Mary's head,
"We don't want to draw any notice from anyone here even if the coast is already clear. So, dear friend, please remain silent. I don't want to ruin the experience."
Mary huffed and continued. I followed Mary's path through the narrow space behind her. Because we were both in the tunnel, we grasped the small rings of the rope on the back of the bookcase and dragged it back to the wall. So that no one would be the smarter if they choose to track us down,
