Xavienna’s POV

I woke up in an unfamiliar bed feeling dizzy. I suddenly held the comforter tightly that was wrapped around my naked body.

I gulped suspiciously massaging my temple.

“What have I done?” I whispered to myself, as my heart started to beat faster. I was feeling nervous and I couldn’t think of anything at the moment.

I bit my nail, trying to focus on my next step.

I heavily sighed before turning my gaze around this cheap room. I just couldn’t believe that I drank too much, whereas my plan was only to celebrate but I ended up spreading my legs to a stranger I just met at the bar.

I couldn’t even remember his face. This is all because of Billy. I don’t really get why he left me at the bar where he asked me first to celebrate.

Without hesitation, before I get caught. I quickly took all my clothes and put all my stuff back in my bag.

I know this is a big problem but I just think about it later when I get home before my Mom caught me, sleeping in a stranger’s arms.

I was still lucky that I woke up at four in the morning and was able to get back home before my Mom woke up.

I sighed heavily and threw myself at the bed after seeing Railey’s instagram post. I know they were just workmates but I couldn’t stop myself from being jealous.

I mean, who wouldn’t be? If a girl like Elly is being compared to me? She came from a wealthy family, she’s smart, and she lives a perfect life.

I really love Railey, and I just can’t imagine my life without him. Maybe that’s the reason why I really didn’t want to see them together.

What if he falls out of love?

What if he started to like Elly?

I slap myself for overthinking. Railey didn’t want me to be like this. And honestly, I wanted to stop overthinking but I just can’t help it! I’m afraid that I’ll end up being like my Mom.

My father left us.

I opened my phone and texted Railey.

To: Railey babe!

‘Rai! Good morning!’

‘I’m going to accept the offer at the Teashop!’

‘Are you still busy? Hope You’re doing good! Love you!’

I pressed my lips and rolled over my bed back and forth. I really missed him. He told me that he’ll stay there for only a week. And it’s been three months already.

I was overthinking that what if he cheated on me? But look at me, I was the one who cheated on him. I was the one who over-thinks that one day, he’ll leave me for Elly.

I sighed heavily. What I did was wrong, and I don’t know how I am supposed to tell Railey about that. I love him and I don’t want him to break up with me.

It was just a mistake. One mistake that could ruin our relationship and might as well my career.

I buried my face in the pillow.

“Mom! I’m running late for school!” I shouted inside my room waiting for my mom to get back from getting my uniform downstairs.

I was wearing my skirt and a sleeveless undershirt. I was already fifteen minutes in my room, scrolling my instagram account when I noticed that she didn’t come back. I placed my phone on my study table beside my bed and decided to follow my mom downstairs.

“I’m sorry to tell you Mrs Moralde, you’ve been promising me to pay for the apartment for the last three months.”

“If you can’t pay today, I’m sorry but I have to let you leave now!”

I could already hear the frustration in her voice. I did my best to walk faster in order to see who’s that person scolding my mom this early.

“Ahh-“ I bit my lower lip as I tripped on the bottom step of the stairs.

Without any hesitation, my mom quickly ran towards me.

“What are you doing, Xavie?” She scolded me again for being clumsy.

My mom checks my ankle if it causes any damage.

“Mom, I’m okay,” I lied where in fact my hips are now in pain because of this woman.

“Well, I heard that woman is shouting towards you! So I didn’t see the last step.”

“Excuse me?” The woman in front of us raised her brows towards us.

“Who are you to talk to me like that? Didn’t you know? I am the landlady of this apartment! And right now, you have to leave!” She shouted at us so I furiously looked at her.

I stretched my legs upon standing and smirked at her. Mom was just at my side, supporting me to stand.

“You don’t have to, Mrs Old woman!”

“Let me guess? You don’t have any lover or husband, am I right?”

“Oh! Don’t answer it, it’s obvious!”

My mom pinches me in my hand to stop me but I didn’t listen to her. I really don’t like when other people look down on us. It makes me mad and who are they to look down on us?

“We’re leaving, right now. I couldn’t stand seeing your face.”

The old woman left after our discussion.

“You shouldn’t have done that, Saxie! I didn’t raise you to be like that!” She's scolding me again.

I rolled my eyes before receiving the water she handed me. I didn’t go to school because of the trouble I started. I changed my uniform into comfortable clothes because I didn’t want it to get dirt since I haven’t used it for too long.

“Mom? We both know that! I just couldn’t stand her seeing her shouts at you and treating you like that.”

After drinking the glass of water, I throw myself on the sofa in frustration. Sometimes, I have this attitude when I hear something that is against my principle, it makes me mad and I can't stop myself.

I saw my mom sitting in front of where I was sitting, facepalming.

“What are we going to do now? We have no place to go.”

“You should have let me handle that! I can try to convince her to extend the due date.” Her face looked so disappointed.

“It’s okay Mom! I have already talked to my boss. The one I was applying for. He offered me free lodging as long as I worked there.”

My mom took a glance at me. Seeing her face looks like she couldn’t believe in what I just told her.

“Really? Then, let’s pack already! Which place are we going to move to?” she asked excitedly in her eyes.

I know she’s been telling me to move ever since that old woman is threatening her. I just didn’t want to accept the offer from my Boss because it feels like it’s inappropriate.

I fixed myself, sighed heavily and looked at her.

“Thirty minutes away from my work,” I answered.

I feel tired already thinking that we have so many things to do when we move now. I told my coworker that I am not going to work today because we have to move.

“Am I late already?”
