Chapter

As always, during this time of the day, she was sitted on her favorite rock under the sea combing her blue glittering locks which covered up to her breasts. If you got keen enough you'd realize she wasn't combing the locks, you'd tell from her face that her mind was somewhere else. Her eyes faced the ends where they couldn't linger without blinking even once. Whatever she was thinking about, the thing had drowned her.

Others of her kind were playing around her, talk of the dives to see who would splash a lot of water, the noises, the singing, the loud laughs but none of this seemed to go through her ears. It was like she was in her own world somewhere far away. If you were to ask any of her agemates playing around her or those who were lovey-dovey with their boyfriends just a few meters from where she was they would tell you that "she's always like that since her parent's killing.....poor little thing....she doesn't talk to anyone and she's always alone" that would be their answer. And that would be the truth. She doesn't talk to anyone and if she does it's only the greetings. Most of the time she is always alone sitting on a rock with her eyes fixed on one place.

Everyone eventually left and she was left all alone rooted in the same place with her gaze still on the same place. It was already night cause the stars and the moon were already showing up. She might have noticed that it was getting dark because she was now for some minutes staring at the stars which were shining bright and then suddenly swam as fast as she could and then came to a stop. This was just what she was waiting for, just for the night to come as soon as it had so that she could see the city beyond the ocean. The human realm.

The more she looked at it the more it seemed like it had a lot of stars. Lucky her she had been told by her father that humans used something called electricity for lighting that's why there were lights everywhere in the city at night. From where she was you could just see the light as the stars in the sky.

The more she looked at the city the more upset and angrier and aggressive she got, and the more her eyes gave in too but she would dry the tears before they could even leave the eye. The more she looked at it the more lonely she became and the more her heart would sting. This was what she had been going through since she was twelve. The pain of losing her parents left a huge lump in her heart. It has been hard to bear and for six years she's always sitting at that rock to wait for the night to fall just so she could come near the show unnoticed and take a look at the city.

For six years she has lived in pain and for six years her despise for humans has grown up to the core that she couldn't bear it anymore.

For six years she has had nightmares and taunting memories that couldn't get off her head and they would remain there forever. For six years she has been alone and broken. For six years she has forgotten how it felt to be important and be loved and what it felt like to have a family.

What it felt like to have a mother who told you how beautiful you were, who praised your beauty and called it rare, a mother who loved your smile, who praised you always, how she dried your tears even when you cried over silly things, a mother who kissed you on the cheek when you woke up and before going to bed, a mother who combed your long hair and styled it with jewelry, a mother who played with you when you couldn't find someone to play with, a mother who always took care of you like a priceless precious gem and who dedicated her love to you freely.

All that she missed it. And for six years she's been deprived of all those things.

For six years now she had forgotten what it felt like to have a father in your life. A father who read you stories during bedtime. A father who gave you precious gifts that others would envy. A father who always taught you things that you didn't know and always encouraged you when you felt like you couldn't do something. A father who always supported you and acted like your stronghold pillar.

A father who made you live in the underwater library because that's where you two used to spend most of your time with him reading you stories from the books of humans and you listening carefully as he explained them to you. A father who always protected you. A father whose embrace felt so warm and was always what you yearned for, a father who kissed you on the forehead every morning and every night. A father whose love felt like it was eternal. She missed that too.

All that had been taken away from her. it had been snatched and destroyed. For six years now only what remained were the bittersweet memories. She had forgotten what it felt like to have a loving family. Two parents who were always in love and emotions, the jokes, the family chants, the family games, swimming together, and other things only remained as memories.
