As the Alpha's daughter I have to participate in the gathering of finding a mate. The idea of finding a mate scares me but at the same time excitement rushes through me when I think about it. I am not ready for the next step of being mated, marked and the possible responsibilities of being a Luna.

My name is Chiley, I am 18 years old and this year will be the first year I participate in the gathering. My thoughts run wild as it is only two days untill the event and my heart is going crazy every time my mom talks about it. I still feel like I want to be free and have a few years to myself, I don't want to give up my freedom to a complete stranger just yet.

"Chiley honey!" My mom yells from downstairs and I know it is time for me to eat breakfast. "Coming." I replied.

When I get downstairs the smell of pancakes tickle my nostrils and the melting butter makes my mouth water. My nerves have died down and I am able to eat for the first time in weeks. Nothing beats my mom's pancakes and she knows that it is my absolute favorite.

"Thank you mom, it's delicious" I say mumbling with my mouth still full.

"Have I not taught you manners at all? Don't speak with your mouth full." She rolls her eyes and exits the kitchen leaving me with a mouth full of pancakes and a stunned look on my face.

The day flies by as if time decided that he is going for a sprint and that he was not running anymore. I helped my mom and dad, as the Alpha and Luna of the Golden Moon pack, to prepare the grounds for the arrival of all the different packs from the surrounding area. Some of the packs will be arriving from later this evening and the rest will be coming early tomorrow to settle in, twelve packs in total have arranged to participate this year.

In a few moments the first pack came walking over the field. Each pack had their own time that they had to arrive to ensure that the packs don't arrive at the exact same time. I walked with the females to their cabins and the betas son walked with the males participating today.

Over and over we did this untill the last pack for the night has arrived.

The cabins were in ranks, there were alpa cabins, beta, gamma and omega cabins as well. It was to make sure every person had a space and would feel comfortable by being placed by the same rank.

There was a hall where everyone could mingle and chat and make new friends. I stood around and made sure that everybody was getting along and enjoy it. Weirdly enough every single girl in here seems to be excited about the evens of the day after tomorrow.

"I cannot wait to run through the trees and right into my mate."

"I can't wait to feel his touch."

"Or to look into his eyes."

The babbling continues and all I can think about is how scared I am about leaving my pack, the only safe place I have ever had. I slowly walk to my room, tired of all the arrangements of the last few days.

'Why am I so scared I ask myself.'

I walk into the room and turn the light on and feel a relief as I remember that I have the big room all to myself.
