Introduction
"You're not who I thought you were," he says gently, the soft pad of his finger tracing down my cheek. "But who you are now excites me. I think we could be evil together." Millicent isn't perfect. She isn't the angelic leader of the mortal world like ever likes to believe. They pray to her, sing to her, hoping for wealth or plentiful crops to be granted to their families. But she is powerless. Until now. Sinful, her mate, has been the last thing on her mind, as she creates a plan to escape the clutches of the all powerful being that holds her captive. But, as Sinful falls into her life once again, she learns that she could use him to escape. But that means tricking the master of manipulation. A Sin himself. Yet undeniably, he is her mate, and with his quick wit and flirtatious behaviour, Millicent begins to wonder what she is escaping for. Maybe it's for him. But maybe wanting that, will turn her bad.

  ~Sinful

  I watch her, uninterested.

There is little else in this place to look at right now. I sit behind the glass, watching her swim. She isn't very graceful or elegant, as she glides just beneath the surface of the water, completely naked. Her body doesn't bother me, or strike me with wonder. It's just another pointless body that holds little meaning to me. I barely give it a second glance.

She knows I'm watching her, and she's making a show of it. Poppy, I believe her name is. She snuck in here thinking I wouldn't notice, stripped of her clothing and dove into my pool. Now she's trying her hardest to impress me.

It's the struggle I enjoy the most.

No one can impress me. It's as simple as that, yet so many shameless girls stumble into my place in order to try me out. It was the words of the last girl who came in here, not mine. It's a novelty to bed me considering my abilities as the sin, lust. It's a curse in itself, since these girls who come here couldn't interest me in the slightest. The only people I bed are those who I need to, for my own gain.

I don't hate these girls. I pity them. The high point of their life will be fucking an immortal, rather than their own mate. For that, I don't care so much for them.

Poppy pulls herself out of the water, wet blonde hair plastered to her breasts. Her gaze is sultry.

  It's not her fault.

It's not her fault my mate is beyond all mortal and immortal beings. That her beauty transcends whoever steps foot inside his estate. It's not my fault my mate doesn't want anything to do with me either, which allows these girls who wander in here to think they are doing something moral.

With no towel supplied, Poppy pushes open the glass door to the swimming complex, letting out the heat and the scent of magic I use to keep it clear.

"Why hello," she says coyly. She makes a show of stretching herself against the wall, as if seeing her body from another angle would change my mind. Simply watch her face, bored, as she approaches, moving her body in ways I assume she is thinking looks sensual.

  "Poppy," I say smoothly.

Her arms fall by her side, as she looks at me, disappointed. "It's Penelope. Remember?"

I wince. Of course it is. No part of me means to be so harsh, I'm just so uninterested. I need to start putting locks on my doors, and source down whoever is feeding these impressionable girls such unfortunate information that I am open to their advances at all times.

It's a shame I'm not the way I used to be.

"Forgive me. You don't have a very memorable face," I comment. That not so memorable face screws up into a frown. I'm only messing with her, tugging at her insecurities. In all honesty, she's pretty enough. Conventionally pretty, that is.

"Asshole," she mutters, tucking her arms over her breasts. Now she doesn't like me. Good, I hope she spreads the word to all the other gushing girls wherever she came from.

"Your blouse is still in the pool room," I remind her.

With clenched teeth, she rushes back to retrieve her clothes. This has become a trend recently, and sadly enough, it's become my nightly entertainment. Life has been rather boring since the last time I stirred trouble with the immortals. Living an eternal life doesn't have as many benefits as one first thought.

Penelope returns, fully dressed, thankfully. She has a pitiful pout on her face as she comes to stand in front of me.

"Was all this meant to scare me? Because you're not that scary," she tells me, her hip jutting out as if to appear more confident. It's my favourite stage. The comeback stage, where she attempts to salvage any lost dignity in order to make herself look better, more irresistible, as if I'm going to change my mind about rejecting her.

"You're right. I'm a friendly teddy bear who loves cuddles," I say. "Come closer and I'll show you, Penelope."

  She hesitates.

"Whatever. Immortals are meant to be intimidating and mysterious, but I would go as far to say you're as transparent as a piece of glass," she comments snarkily. Clearly her mother never told her a bad attitude doesn't look so good on her. At least she's trying to fight back rather than slink out of this place with their tail between their legs.

"Bold statements coming from the girl still standing on my property. You're lucky I'm taking pity on you," I say, quite enjoying the way she deflates. "Would you like my magic to take you back to the train station you came from?"

She nods, so I stand, reaching for her hand. She takes it anxiously, still wary. As much as she has enjoyed talking down to me, she understands how powerful I actually am.

  In an instant, she vanishes.

I let her off easily, aside from delivering her a fifteen minute walk away from the train station in the snow. Harmless entertainment. At least I can confirm she won't be back, and neither were her two friends who were planning to come here the next day after. I make a mental reminder to put something around this property to keep them out.

For now, I have a much more important matter to attend to. It's a nightly ritual I doubt I could live without. I need to see my mate. Or as close as I can get to her.

Wandering outside, I enjoying the cool breeze that lifts off the snow capped mountains surrounding this mountain. It's a feeling that allows me to pretend for a moment, I'm mortal, where the life around me will only exist for awhile longer. Yet I've lived this life for many years, and it will never end.

  That's the plan, at least.

I wonder how Millicent, my mate deals with not enjoying the world under her. She sits, trapped within the Moon's clutches. Yet, she doesn't wish for me to save her. I don't know what her plans involve.

Sitting down on the bench I had installed for this very reason, I look up. The Moon is full tonight, glaring down at me. Taunting me.

I wonder if she ever thinks of me like I think of her. My entire life I never looked forward to having a mate, yet here I am, waiting for her to finally accept me into her life. If that will ever happen. I'm not sure what her hesitation is about, but I have a feeling it's because of who I am. That I'm a Sin, and she's the Moon Goddess.

She is all that is good in this world. And I'm the opposite.

Regardless, I'm not going to let her slip away. As much as I hate the way it deems me weak, I will try. I will try to make her want me.

I'm just not sure exactly how.
